Yeah that bottom piece had a hidden detailed cyber robot weiner/cock in there blasting all over in the center of the head. Dead serious.
Maybee through the installation he's saying "(I'm) or we're all surrounded by a bunch of big pussies, and assholes" Pretty hardcore for a formal Japanese Heritage Museum.
But that's why Choe's so dope, cuz he does what his artistic mind says to do regardless of what society says is right.
As I believe Ben Snow said in the post. It's easy to hate on choe. Because he's sooo good that he bangs out a piece that solid and can just roll it up and do something else. His ability to create great work - quickly - is quite amazing.
So quickly/efficiently he doesn't realize how great they are to the extent that the piece on the bottom has all kinds of wrinkle marks from being loosely rolled. He's done killing it on this piece. Now it's onto the next. sweet how his process is.

David Choe • Death Blossom, by Zippy on Oct 28, 2009 20:09:33 GMT 1, it's a stunning print and I hope those who got will post a picture of the actual piece on its arrival. I am selling my Sound Eyes and Tryptich pieces and hope to use the funds to get one of these. I really love my City Girl but I feel this one will easily be my favourite choe so far.
Please post up a piccie of you were lucky enough to get one.
And can i put myself down in the queue as 'looking to buy'.

David Choe • Death Blossom, by mookie on Oct 28, 2009 20:41:41 GMT 1, Once people start getting them in hand maybe some will appear... I would hope / and be happy to pay £1-1.5k to pick one up but who knows... maybe wait and see how the first few sales go as these could go at a premium. These are massive and if not framed I would imagine most ending up stored in the tubes which might result in damage... these will be a nightmare getting back in the tube again without causing damage... i think it states they should be removed from tube by a professional framer.

These will go for $2000 or less IMO.
Choe's secondary market prices are not very strong. City Girl 150s trade hands regularly for below $1000. The Jimi Hendrix print which had many people clamoring over it with it's large size and limited run now sits unsold on expressobeans at around $1800 I think.
This is an impressive print, I wish I had one, but what makes it above and beyond Choe's other premium works which dont do much via ebay?

The bonus print is in reference to a COA that is basically a smaller reproduction of the print itself.

David Choe • Death Blossom, by Cardiff on Oct 29, 2009 23:01:37 GMT 1, I just paid $1,600 ($1,000+cost) for one of these. I love the print, and IMHO, there is nothing I could get at that price that I want more. I may be kicking myself in a few months if they drop well below that, but at least I'll be kicking myself in front of my framed Death Blossom.

I doubt they will drop far below that, if at all. The last two choe releases seem to have more demand... not all that many on the secondary market yet, and very few of the hendrix print have been appearing

$1600 doesnt seem like too bad a price.
Very few Hendrix have been appearing on EBAY, but you can get one for 1499 on expressobeans

I am afraid you will need to hand it over to Bozwick as he was first in the queue. Did you take a ticket?
