Glasgow Rangers In Manchester, by shaunyboy on May 16, 2008 0:39:23 GMT 1, Don't see why not. United played in Manchester and got their name in Manchester. Makes sense for a few of the fans to still be in Manchester Hmmm... not Manchester but Trafford actually, but let's not split hairs eh?
Ahh Mr Saidbeirut, I said United played in Manchester as in the past tense.....Indeed they used to play less than 200 yards from where City now play....been there done that

Glasgow Rangers In Manchester, by kahuna on May 16, 2008 2:03:28 GMT 1, After watching the video on The Sun website, it appeared more than a few hundred wankers were involved.
A disgusting bunch of reprobates with their sectarian "UVF" chants and 70's "We are the PEEP PILL" chorus. Thy certainly peed all over Manchester on Wednesday and no doubt many were combining pills with the buckfast.
Rangers knew the large anti-social element of the fans travelling without tickets would get wasted and leave Manchester looking like a s**thole. Events should have been organized in Glasgow to discourage those without tickets from travelling and trashing the host city
Ban Rangers from Europe next year and don't give tickets to any of their fans for away games for the next 10 years. They are a fookin' disgrace not only to their club but they have tarnished the reputation of Scotland yet again.

Glasgow Rangers In Manchester, by zerosandones on May 16, 2008 8:33:33 GMT 1, I hate the Old Firm, however, the VAST majority of the fans are just ordinary punters like me. Unfortunately there is a huge underclass of knuckle dragging bigots associated with both Rangers and Celtic. Sadly, Manchester is close enough for these numpties to travel using their giros.
There can be no justification for the actions of those that rioted and hopefully the worst offenders will be caught (somehow).

I'm considering the Palace Hotel with my football mates, but it's close to selling out or just watching it locally with my local mates... Probably will stay local as I'm taking my mum to watch it as my dad and brother will be in Moscow

Match tickets are still available so would advise watching at the Luzhniki Stadium
If I wans't going myself I would get tickets for the grand room at the Palace Hotel www.joinmust.org/moscow2/ There you can support a worthy cause while watching the match with fellow reds.

I fully support your stance. If only I could be so strong willed...

Glasgow Rangers In Manchester, by beasty on May 16, 2008 11:30:59 GMT 1, Rillo - where did you hear that tickets are available from Luzhniki? Do you know the cost?
I live in Moscow and play football every Tuesday night at one of the pitches at the complex so could go along and find out. The only tickets that I have been able to find cost between 4000 and 5000 euros each( through an agency)!!!
I wanted to take the kids along( they're Man u fans, I'm a Liverpool fan) but at those prices I'll think I'll watch on the box!
If you've got the info on the ticktes could you send it on to me?

Glasgow Rangers In Manchester, by rillo on May 16, 2008 11:40:51 GMT 1, Returns were being sold through man utd ticket office to united members and season ticket holders up until a few minutes ago. Showing sold out now.
Contrary to reports, the match tickets are not named and are, therefore, essentially 100% transferable. With the flight/ hotel situation there will be many extras on the day.

Glasgow Rangers In Manchester, by beasty on May 16, 2008 13:28:44 GMT 1, Thanks for the info. I'm not a Man U member so can't go down that route. Will try the stadium but not sure about turning up on the day. We went to the Russia-England game at Luzhniki and you couldn't get anywhere near the stadium without a ticket. I expect the same next weds.
Is anyone on this thread planning on coming out? If I can be of any help drop me a PM.

Glasgow Rangers In Manchester, by beasty on May 16, 2008 13:44:32 GMT 1, MM - you've lost me. Why would I get a smack for saying "I'm not a Man U member"?
Isn't it good enough these days to be a reasonable parent and take your kids along that are Man Utd fans even if you're not one yourself?
I won't be stupid enough to advertise who I do and don't support though( although on this occassion I will be supporting Utd).
BTW - I realised that I am a Man Utd member after all and just logged in!!

Glasgow Rangers In Manchester, by dmandpenfold on May 16, 2008 14:36:41 GMT 1, I didnt see too much of the chaos on TV, just a bit in the news, however i think the comment made by someone on radio that comes to mind is that it only takes a minority to reinforce a stereotype.
The stereotype that a lot of young scots are out of control alcoholics isn't far off i see it every weekend in Stirling...the phrase i hear very often is "eatin's cheatin" ie no food before a bender so you can get fucked quicker. Young kids in their nice ned tracksuits paying junkies to go into the off-license for them, where the fuck do they get the money at that age? Mind you they are buying buckfast, the winos choice

Oi ! Dont class Celtic supporters with these right wing idiots we have won awards for the behaviour of our supporters.
