OLYMPICS - Beijing 2008 - POST HERE ONLY, by Prescription Art on Aug 5, 2008 11:36:19 GMT 1, Yeah I can't wait for the Olympics... watching all the sports that you only catch once every 4 years - archery, swimming, gymnastics, weightlifting, handball, greco-roman wrestling. And of course the cycling which we're going to absolutely kick arse in.

Now that could be really good fun the only thing that worries me is that it all could be just to predictable

OLYMPICS - Beijing 2008 - POST HERE ONLY, by Agent Provocateur on Aug 5, 2008 14:35:11 GMT 1, I know wot your saying ... but I'm actually feeling quitely confident the haul will be bigger than people anticipate
Maybe it would be better to say the complete TeamGB medal haul (including gold, silver and bronze), giving people a larger range of numbers to choose from?

OLYMPICS - Beijing 2008 - POST HERE ONLY, by Tiki on Aug 5, 2008 14:36:08 GMT 1, agree with leeoman, could be a bit predictable. I think how many medals will each country win could be good. Or a knockout kind of thing. As in people make predictions for each event, the people that guess correct get through to the next round and the losers get knocked out and so on till we have a winner?

..reckon were in for a couple? ;D
As for the medals, expect a handful of Golds (ok, maybe 6)
Expect failing Chinese athletes to disappear shortly after the games finish..
Definitely got a shout on the table tennis if this guy is in the running.. ;D

..the teams from all countries/nations will certainly be less fit (and risk of cancer multiplied 100 fold) on their return. Smog and chemicals will see to that.

OLYMPICS - Beijing 2008 - POST HERE ONLY, by onemandown72 on Aug 5, 2008 19:00:32 GMT 1, Rather than sweepstake, there's gold in them races to be won. Who's up for a little flutter on the games. China to win the medal table & also most medals in total.

OLYMPICS - Beijing 2008 - POST HERE ONLY, by funster on Aug 5, 2008 23:16:42 GMT 1, I'm v excited by the Olympics, as expected the 'other' issues have subsided/disappeared and we're left with 2,750 hours of great BBC coverage. Would love to be there, but roll on 2012, the opening games tickets will be like a Banksy launch when they go on sale!

I reckon 50+, i think 17 have been sent home already before the games begin. Worth a mention the Chinese have been running the world of PED's(production) for decades, until the recent clampdown with the DEA
90% of athletes have an 'edge' imo

It was spectacular indeed, and trying to outdo it will be futile.
I think we should just have Paul Potts sing the national anthem while Phil "The Power" Taylor throws a flaming dart into a vodka filled barbeque.
