Blur reveal warm-up concert plan
Britpop band Blur have revealed they will play a series of warm-up concerts ahead of their reunion gig in London's Hyde Park next summer.
"You can't walk on stage at Hyde Park without putting the hours in," singer Damon Albarn told Absolute Radio.
"Personally, I'd like to go and visit some places that were really important to us when we were growing up."
Speculation is mounting that Blur will perform at the Glastonbury Festival prior to their 3 July London concert.
Bookmakers Paddy Power have made the four-piece 11/8 favourites to be one of the headliners at the June event.
'More focused'
No details about the proposed concerts have been revealed, although Albarn was happy to field suggestions.
Potential locations mooted included Wolverhampton and the band's home county of Essex.
In a separate interview with Radio 1's Zane Lowe, the singer admitted the prospect of playing as a four-piece for the first time in nine years was "terrifying".
"We haven't even thought - any of us - on that scale for a long time," he said.
However, Albarn said spending nearly a decade on individual projects would enable them to come back refreshed.
"We've gone and done our own thing for a while and hopefully now we're going to come back and be more focused."

And that's all that springs to mind at the moment!! Graham Coxon went to art college with Hirst so Iโm sure that is where the main connection is.
I seriously doubt Banksy will be involved this time round but I bet it will be someone of credit.
I actually heard a very interesting/funny story from a music lawyer friend of mine back when think tank was released. Apparently Banksy fell out with emi or whoever was paying him at the time for the Blur artwork as he had insisted on receiving all payments in used notes stuffed in a briefcase but the record company obviously didn't pay him as such! I was working as a music scout at the time and this guy was pretty high up so believe the story. Pretty crazy either way!

I got my Specials tickets today - 6th May at Brixton. It's all the original line-up, minus Jerry Dammers, although Terry has said the door is open if he wants to join them. I hope so..

i entered time out's competition for free tickets (& lost)....glad i never bought any. its a shame as the gorillaz shows were so very impressive in comparison, both musically and artistically

Generally speaking you don't extend a theatre run to try and make up for losses, you tend to cut your losses and end the run early. Could be wrong, but would say you are mis-informed on that one.
