First single/record you ever bought!?, by jonpud on Oct 31, 2007 11:57:24 GMT 1, To those born around 1987 this probably won't really apply, but I remember buying my first vinyl single and proudly loading it onto my blue n grey auto feed record deck (Remember them? Stack 6 singles on, set it to 45RPM and off it goes!!)
Anyway my first ever purchase was Message In A Bottle by The Police, perhaps the saddest single in my collection is You're The One That I Want by Arthur Mullard and Hilda Baker!!!!!!!!!!
I remember playing Message In A Bottle 50 times a day for 4 weeks untill I had enough money to buy a second single, if memory serves me correctly it was Hit Me With Your Rythm Stick by Ian Dury and the Block Heads, B side was There Aint Half Been Some Clever Bastards...............It all went downhill from there!!
Got to be some embarrassing little gems out there!??
Just a little light releif......not a trolley in sight!!

First single/record you ever bought!?, by sham69 on Oct 31, 2007 12:09:19 GMT 1, I had Pinky & Perky on coloured vinyl but that doesn't count as I didn't buy it.
First record that I admit buying was The Advert's Gary Gilmore's Eyes '77ish? 45p from c**kerton Records. Ahhhhh the nostalgia. They don't make them like that anymore.
