Regardless of their terms and conditions and principles of offer and acceptance they will be able to void the contracts on the basis of "operative mistake". Previous cases have involved Argos selling TV's (which they didn't honour) and Kodak selling cameras online (which they did honour but only because the deal was just about believable, given that the page was covered in "Special Deal" type promotions etc). Contract law is a bit more complex than most consumer websites would have you believe!!

plus they will honour it if it looks like excellent PR and there is a net gain to be made, ie a loss leader. if the papers are full of tesco selling vodka for a pound and they honour it, people will flock there to buy all the other vodkas at retail price and they will sell out twice as quick and look like santa f*cking claus!.

I would rather pay ยฃ340 for an Xbox at GAME or Argos than receive a life time of Tesco's spam emails each day about the lastest deals on food mixers etc...
