HIT TESCO WHERE IT HURTS - XBOX FOR ยฃ34, by arcam on Nov 13, 2007 23:41:32 GMT 1, If you go through the hassle of speaking to your bank they can instantly (24 hours is instant apparently) free up all the "extra" ones and leave just the one, which will disappear as and when tesco don't take the cash - in as many as working 10 days. Has yours come off yet?

Dunno - trying not to think about it this week... just have to trust the mechanism that reserves the amount in your account and the one that takes the actual money are working correctly.
I'll not use any vendor that operates like this without them making the buyer fully aware prior to the charge and can in some way explain the reasons behind it. This kind of thing is thrown around willy-nilly at the moment as though your own access to your money is on the same access level as their right to it, which is just plain wrong. They'll say something like "I'll just mark ยฃ200 as a deposit"... you'll just what? This assumption is extraordinarily rude. I've gone away for a weekend with a chosen limit of a couple of hundred quid and you want to lock up the entire amount over a bunch of ยฃ2.99 linens? Like fuck you'll "just" do something... In the past, when I have come across these types, usually hotels and hire cars, I put the cards away and get cash out instead... the seemingly impossible suddenly becomes so very simple when cash alone is involved... shows them to be the chancers they usually are.
Sorry, gets my back up whenever some bullshit half-arsed, hair-brained, arbitrary process infringes on living one's life, especially in the name of a system or technology - how very dare they!
