I think what they are doing is excellent. 10/20 years down the line who knows how important this decision to protect the work could be. They could easily have choosen not to, like so many other iconic banksy images that have been buffed/painted over.

That thought crossed my mind as well for a second too- love walking down there and looking at that piece- will be a real shame if/when it gets covered up and the only way to see it properly will be if I buy an overpriced latte!

I'm not in favour of doing this to any of the work he's done recently or in the last few years, but this one and the one other large piece in Bristol I can think of from the same time should be.

When something achieves this kind of repute, I think the usual rules of 'it's ok to tag it because it's on the street' no longer apply.

please can someone go and check it out?.
