The price tag seemed wrong and it warped my initial thoughts, but this fits with his portraits and could be a watershed in approach. Like he said about his teaching, you should be able to make a face with four brush strokes. This is similarly minimal, its quite different. Maybe seminal, a change in gear on his real strength of painting portraits, in which case this could be a steal. either way, very expensive right now.

Dreamer is a stunning piece in the flesh. Online it looks like it has a silver outline, it's actually pink, just an example of how a JPEG doesn't give a true reflection of the work. It's very impressive and a piece I wouldn't have a problem owning personally.
Whether it's worth ยฃ60k, I don't know, but I do think it would have been closer to ยฃ100k if the recent auction results for Micallef hadn't been as poor as they have been.
I think the asking price is fair TBH. The only thing that I'm a little confused about, is when I was at Lazarides the other day, I'm sure it had a red dot on it, but now it's available.
Maybe I made a mistake and the red dot was for the piece next to it...or maybe there was a buyer that pulled out...who knows?
Changing the subject slightly, the piece at Christie's with a guide of ยฃ8k to ยฃ12k is a seriously strong piece IMO. If it goes for anywhere close to guide, it will be a fantastic buy for someone.

I still think God I Want To Be Bad is the most beautiful print POW has ever produced.
