Lyon & Turnbull Auctions ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ, by baileymontana on Apr 21, 2009 17:19:53 GMT 1, I remember seeing that Wrong War / Happy Chopper on Ebay and asked the seller about it, their reply was very flaky. After the auction finished they sent a mail to me asking if I want buy it as the "winner" has pulled out. I think another two went up again later and I'm sure they sold for a few hundred pounds. If these are the same ones to now try and sell it for ยฃ7000-ยฃ9000 in my mind seems out of order.

It was on the embankment for couple of years. Was gutted when that went, they just lifted the whole box leaving a mass of exposed wires.
They should be done for handling stolen property of the council.

Genuine limited Wrong War along with a load of other art, versus bad copy for double the price? Hmmm tough one
As for the street pieces, Lyon & Turnbull should be ashamed of themselves

If you believe me thats its geniune then fine, but when you come to resell, you may have problems ;-)
Ps if you would like a guitar signed by either of the above for the low cost of ยฃ5,000 please pm :-)

But could there be other effects as well, how would it work if you just wanted to keep the piece but insure it? How would the insurance company view it in the event of a claim?

Lyon & Turnbull Auctions ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ, by Daniel Silk on Apr 25, 2010 13:05:00 GMT 1, news.scotsman.com/scotland/Banksy-print-set-to-fetch.6241768.jp
"Banksy print set to fetch ยฃ5k at sale EDINBURGH's first auction of a work by street artist Banksy could fetch more than ยฃ5,000 next week. The 2006 print, one of 33 from Banksy's LA Edition, was passed to auctioneers Lyon & Turnbull by a friend of the artist. With a cheeky nod to the Fringe, the screen-print is named Festival and shows punters lining up to buy "Destroy capitalism" T-shirts for $30. Auction house specialist Ben Hanly said the work was different to the type the firm usually handles. "It is classic Banksy at his best, and this print is quite rare," he said. "It's meant to be a fun thing and he is a sought-after artist. "We have sold 15 or 20 works by him in London, but never in Edinburgh. We think there's a national interest in what he's doing." The print is expected to fetch between ยฃ3,000 and ยฃ5,000 but similar prints in galleries have sold for more than ยฃ7,000. The largest sum ever paid for a Banksy piece was ยฃ102,000, for anti-war print Bombing Middle England in 2007. The sale will take place at 11am on 28 April, at the Lyon & Turnbull saleroom in Broughton Place."

Lyon & Turnbull Auctions ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ, by tomega on Apr 25, 2010 20:55:04 GMT 1, I think will exceed 5K for 3 following reasons:
Even the unsigned Modern Multiple (LA) prints are hard to come by (I know one was available here recently) as only 100 of an intended 500 run were made available. For Festival prints only a very few (which incl artists proofs) were signed.
This one is a low edition of 33 (on end paper) gifted to the owner by Banksy but also has Pest Control authentication.
As many people know there are differences in the Festival prints this one having the pushchair shown in full - unlike the part-pushchair seen on the Modern Multiple unsigned.
As already mentioned a Trolley print (ed 750) sold recently at auction which cost its buyer about 4 grand. Therefore can assume this person (like lots of other people) prefers not to shop on here (likely doesn't even know about banksyforum) or ebay. Preferring to pay a premium at auction, and galleries, as they assume only way of getting solid provenance. Only needs couple of people like buyer of Trolley to be after the Festival to take it way over 5k.
Just my thoughts on the matter, be interesting to see what happens.
