Couldn't agree more. The number of BRP pieces in this auction that have come from recent shows is ridiculous.
Forgot the stock market being screwed, at the rate pieces are being flipped these days the future for this 'scene' looks very bleak.

Dreweatts Art Auctions π¬π§, by Deleted on Sept 15, 2008 18:01:15 GMT 1, I was very surprised with this catalogue! They did a great job. Some nice Dface pieces, a very cool Neate piece and finally a Parla on the market. Bit surprised bout the Neate piece for 8K-12K that is nothing more than a very good streetpiece, probably one of the best.
The Walker headless astronaut is really cool.. the best edition!
We will see.. I dont have cash to buy.. would like a little Dface piece .

Dreweatts Art Auctions π¬π§, by snausages on Sept 15, 2008 18:13:59 GMT 1, Once again Drewatts has entered a formidable competitor into the worst auction catalog of the year awards ...save for a few such as an over estimated Gemeos and a really nice og Banksy 'oil' ...but then again, as much as I like Banksy ...a stenciled over thrift store painting for half a million dollars!?! Have we really gotten ahead of ourselves about how important that really is? Are the hedge funds and Andipa still going to be paying top dollar as wall street continues to melt down?

That does once again appear far too high for the Neate; they're certainly doing their best to bugger his career!!! It makes your canvas seem like the bargain of the century Jopkop
A stunning Os Gemeos and it will be interesting to see how the Parla does. Can't wait for the auctions in October, exciting times...

Dreweatts Art Auctions π¬π§, by Simococo on Sept 15, 2008 20:57:45 GMT 1, the mix is odd though. very odd. it feels more like a car boot sale than an auction or maybe its just their way of keeping it "street / car park / playing field??"

Dreweatts Art Auctions π¬π§, by griffermans on Sept 15, 2008 21:20:22 GMT 1, I think it is commendable that they include cheaper work along side the expensive pieces to draw attention to other up and coming artists. I just know that if I had money to blow though I would be spending it on artists who I felt were a safe long term investment unless I was minted of course.
Agreed. Shame there is no Rolf Harris in the sale!
