re all the talk on originality..the spins have been going on for years
my mum used to do spin paintings in the 70's for kids workshops even....on old record players!!
The ones on my www.rosepopay.bigcartel.com site and this signed one, are on quality paper and have had time and a wee bit a skill spent working to get the certain POW factor!.
..original and exciting...
a great mix of colour and chaos
as for my bargain priced ones, i love making them , i think they will cheer up anyones home
and there is a lot of us in need of a dazzling bargain!!
and as for the notion of the concept.....does one credit the inventor of the wheel, the pigment paint mixers or simply the person that enjoys making it or looking at it!!
shout if fancy trying your hand at one!

I would be interested to know about the stamp as well. I haven't seen the back of any Hirst work before, but I was surprised to see he uses such a stamp. Even though he knows we all know about the work force in his studio, I just thought he would be just slightly more subtle about it. I wonder whether there are Hirst spins with just his signature and no stamp.

Estimate was ยฃ8K to ยฃ12K Sold in the higher part of the estimate. I'd had to dig up the exact result.

My uncle has one of these, it's quite nice in the flesh!

Then this isn't a unique Damien Hirst painting.
I guess the test would be if it would be accepted as part of the catalogue raisonne.

Anyone with an artnet account can see what they go for (I don't). Looks like auction estimates for these tend to be in the 3-6k mark but in USD and cant see if they actually attain that. Can anyone confirm?
