acrylic on paper
diameter: 52 cm. 20ยฝ in.
framed
Executed in 2022.
Frame details: float-mounted on PH neutral, lignin free board using archival tape. Set away from the glass with 1/2 inch paper wrapped fillets. Glazed with Artglass AR99 Water White. Anti-glare, museum grade glass.

I honestly didn't think I'd be in a situation to have to sell (hence the dedication). Gutting in many ways. If I thought I'd be selling I'd have gone for just the signature which in hindsight, seems to be the best idea anyway. |

Details: 22" x 22" Acrylic on paper spin painting in square format. I've never seen another original spin painting in square format. Arrived framed by Science (DH Company). Sticker on back of frame with painting details.
Dedicated 'for Declan' and signed on the front in a complimentary colour where it's not distracting from the artwork.
Incredible vibrant colours.

Any idea on price? Ideally was looking for something in the 8-9k mark It's lovely for sure, if I hadn't bought so much I'd be tempted. The dedication will hold it back as you probably know, I've been trying to sell a dedicated one for a while and struggled, had a few nibbles but nothing concrete and I'm guiding ยฃ8k, in fairness yours is a much stronger piece so its not impossible for yours to sell at ยฃ8k privately. Personally I'd prefer a dedicated large one off spin painting than a tiny little currency series of 5,000+ but the market doesn't share my sentiment. Auction is probably your best bet for this if you're willing to risk it, you have to be prepared to accept the crappy estimate of the auctioneer which I'm guessing will be ยฃ4-6k or ยฃ5-7k, there is some risk in this at the moment but it is also something that could go really well at Sothebys or Christie's, it's entirely conceivable even in this market for it to make a ยฃ10k+ hammer based on size and the strong colours. If you fancy a safer route with more control I'd happily have a go at selling it for you and returning you ยฃ8k, drop me a DM if you want to chat. |
