Artnet Auctions ๐บ๐ฒ, by kuni on Jun 12, 2019 13:44:43 GMT 1, Some possible duds but some fairly desirable pieces as well. That invader triptych is pretty badass, and it will be interesting to see if that crosses over 200k. The fighter plane nose done by Kenny Scharf is interesting.

Where they are going with the price of the SEEN i don't know.
There will be many on here glued to this to see what the Brooklyn Museum and MOCAD prints go for.

Tough to say. Many people snoozed on it and wanted one on release. I think it will go up by a bit at the last minute. Not sure why the seller chose Artnet though. They donโt have a good exposure latitude. Iโd be more curious to see what this would have done at Sothebyโs or Christieโs.

Artnet Auctions ๐บ๐ฒ, by Winter on Jul 10, 2019 9:35:04 GMT 1, Interesting article, thereโs no question heโs an excellent artist. When Hockney attends your shows you must be doing something right. Looks like reserve has been met on this piece.

About 27k usd including taxes and fees for a print that was outside the regular edition. Regular releases tend to be worth a bit more. Price is bout right on point.

Hammer price isnโt the value though as that isnโt what the winner paid. Market is set by what someone is willing to pay. Whoever won that awesome print new that with that hammer, they would end up closer to 27k. Great print. Should have gone for more. 26-27k all in isnโt bad when these were 15k 7 months ago. PPโs also donโt sell for as much as the recognized edition. Curious as to how much higher it would have gone at a more prestigious auction house like Christieโs.

and PPs pretty much always sell for more than the recognized edition, so not sure where that bit came from. also weren't these 18k from cirrus, rather than 15k?

Artnet Auctions ๐บ๐ฒ, by campfire headphase on Jul 11, 2019 12:42:52 GMT 1, 15k release on the shelf still life. 18k was the Speaker. I didnโt mention hammer price because it was listed plainly on artnet. AP and TPs I agree are more valuable as theyโre artist owned or unique. Generally, I have found that printer/employee owned donโt go for the same value as regular, artist owned or unique tps. Replicating or not, that person didnโt pay 20k, they paid 26-27k for that print. The first auction for it and a really solid number for a great print.

Artnet Auctions ๐บ๐ฒ, by Unica on Jul 11, 2019 12:48:28 GMT 1, I view the price as the the total price paid, the buyer didn't just pay the hammer price. The buyer paid hammer price and all the fees. When you buy at auction I assume you also pay buyers premium, ARR and shipping etc If i'm budgeting to buy at auction I always factor another 30% on top of hammer.
