Mear One ๐บ๐ธ Street Art โข New Print Release , by top on Feb 22, 2008 21:11:10 GMT 1, I'm reading a lot of praise for this, but no reasons as to why it is so good. I'd be interested in why this is so exciting...?
Must say it took me a while to get it stuey..was not overly impressed on 'first look',didn't understand what made it so appealing at all.
Then it began to slowly grow on me, struggled with the phoenix image as found it overpowering(makes sense now!).
I prefer some edition numbers more than others, but it was after I had gained the full background history on MEAR ONE, then the background sketches made sense,as did the philosophy.
The step by step processes involved really got me intrigued(as I'm new to art generally) and I began to 'feel' and interpret my own angle on this edition.
Also, I must be me being unable to refuse a good 'handjob' finish! hehe! 
Respect to all involved and contributors to this thread, especially Baurmann Gallery..roll on 9pm tonight!!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D

Having seen the process pics, it's surely the case that the pictures can't do it justice. I'm expecting a lot of depth, texture & detail.
Mear One has a good street pedigree as far I can see, but these works are really another dimension. Incredibly intense. Some are quite apocalyptic even.
If it's half as good as I'm expecting, it would have been cheap at many times the price.
A massive thanks to the Baurmann gallery for making such a remarkable piece affordable.

They can only be described as a series. When I first saw the post I thought it was print relesase with reworking, these are just plain originals 1/1 and you really do not get those at affordable prices these days. Full marks to the gallery and artist.
I look forward to seeing the forum catch over the coming weeks.

Looks like quite a few people kept quiet til after the release then! (cant blame you for keeping the hype low tho!)
..the fact that each one is basically a 1/1 original of 30 just tops it off really, cant wait for the postman to bring mine!
..oh, plus the stencilled packaging which appears very heavy (hence P&P costs!)-least it will be safe! ;D

Every time someone added a comment to this thread, I winced! I had hoped this would stay well off the radar since Mear One is not well known (at least in the UK). The email to the board by Silky was not pleasant reading!

For USA orders, hopefully some people should start recieving them as early as tommarrow. For the UK, it is estimated the shipping time is around 5 days, depending on Customs. The tracking info should have been mailed to the email account associated with the purchase.

It is amazing how many emails I have received referencing the mass forum emailโฆsome being exposed to the work for the first time, others cringing due to their long standing knowledge of MEARโs career and knowing that email was going to make getting an edition extremely difficult...
MEAR has always had a tremendous fan base in the US and Europe [especially France and Germany], but as new people have come onto the art scene and become interested in graffiti and street art in general, exposing his body of work [from the streets, editions, and originals/masterpieces] to as many new people as possible is a very incredible thing to be able to do!
Thank you again for bringing MEAR to so many new homes, especially in the UK. Thank you for also informing many of his fans about the release too, so they had a chance to not miss it. My respect for what you have done with this site is tremendous!

Got home this evening minutes too late to go and collect it so tomorrow it is.
