Damien Hirst Superstition Poster, by ThursdayFeeling on Apr 10, 2007 20:21:00 GMT 1, Im sure there will be a lot more after the amount that was bought the other day from this place. so are you saying they will keep releasing more signed posters? thats why i never put any stock into non numbered stuff.
I got an email back from the gallery, I quote:
"We had 100 of each Death of God poster (4 designs in total) available signed aswell as 50 signed Superstition posters. These are all now out of stock I'm afraid. We may have another 50 Superstition posters available in the coming weeks though this is to be confirmed. The best way to keep updated with new items on the site is register online to receive our newsletter and to keep checking the site regularly."

Damien Hirst Superstition Poster, by Ron Goldsurfer on Apr 10, 2007 23:10:17 GMT 1, I got this annoying mail after my trying to buy a poster, that they had some kind of technical problem(up til now my bank account is still minus with the amount of 5 signed posters!)
"I'm very sorry to hear about the problems you've experienced with our online ordering system. This is the first time we've encountered this problem so I've passed it onto our web developers to look into as a matter of urgency. I will get back to you as soon as I hear from them.
I can't see the five payments from our online payment system - would they all be under the name xxxx xxxxxx? I can assure you that once I've located these payments I will refund you in full. I'm afraid that none of your attempts to place an order were successful.
Once again, please accept my apologies for the confusion and inconvenience this has caused.
Best wishes xxxx"
I really hope that they are sincere and fix this "fuck up" as soon as possible. And I think they should compensate me with at least the possibility to buy one signed poster, donยดt you?

Damien Hirst Superstition Poster, by fautebol on Apr 11, 2007 16:51:16 GMT 1, one of the signed hirsts on the bay is up to ยฃ204 with 2 days to go!!
And the other one is now 265ยฃ...Given these prices and being unnumbered, I wonder how many will be on the bay...I will put here what othercriteria sends with the poster(s) when I receive mine...
BTW, I made a special request and received a very nice email. I'm not sure that I will get what I want, but I found their communication excellent...

To me this could look much better if framed without the inscriptions on the corners, especially for the red one (impossible for the portrait one)...Thus, I asked if they had one where the signature is a bit up, (not like the ones on ebay)...They said they would do their best to find a suitable one, but it could be impossible..

Damien Hirst Superstition Poster, by tadghostal on Apr 11, 2007 19:34:27 GMT 1, Just thought I'd share this with you. I was sent an email from othercriteria.com which is the current official source of Damien Hirst publications (prints, books etc) The email was announcing that: 50 signed posters now available. 100 signed posters in four different designs now available. These, in my opinion are very nice and they have been signed. I'm guessing these are going to go mighty quick at ยฃ75. They are also only slightly more expensive than Zeus 'Error System'
After learning that these are open edition posters on thin stock, I canceled my order of all 4 signed. Hopefully this means some of you kind people will have an opportunity to get one this round through. And if you don't get one this round, don't sweat it---they've got more on order.
On a side note, Kate from Othercriteria seems to be 100% class. Excellent email etiquette, and charming as well.

Damien Hirst Superstition Poster, by slowmo on Apr 12, 2007 9:05:02 GMT 1, But the signed, is that limited? I understand that the unsigned of course would be unlimited, but the signed would be limited would it not? If I was Hirst I would not want to be signing endless unlimited posters.

Nope, I would be more concerned about sticking my signature on something that would make me considerably more in an edition of 100 ;D

Touche! ;D I imagine you'd be able to sign at least 200+ posters in an hour - that's ยฃ10,000 an hour. Though, guess that sort of money isn't worth getting out of bed for if your Damien Hirst.

Damien Hirst Superstition Poster, by fautebol on Apr 12, 2007 9:44:03 GMT 1, Also, it would kill further releases no? And I'm not sure he would sell them.
I would prefer to put the signature in all open editions, but in limited numbers. If you want an autograph of Damien Hirst, the book "the Cancer Chronicles" is still available from othercriteria and the signature will cost you 28ยฃ (50ยฃ in total) (note that for the reprint of "I want to spend the rest of...", the signature wil cost you 440ยฃ - 500ยฃ in total)

Damien Hirst Superstition Poster, by mcnuts on Apr 12, 2007 10:12:47 GMT 1, through having a look around the web. past signed litho poster editions have been limited to between 100-350. This may be the same. So tag could be right in saying more will be released as they may not have met that 300 poster threshold. Ok back to work, i got a bloody thesis to write.

Damien Hirst Superstition Poster, by ABC on Apr 12, 2007 11:03:44 GMT 1, A good point to note fellow members: What is stopping people buying Unsigned posters and signing them themselves, then selling on. Nothing In my view as they are not numbered and not cataloged and the unsigned are open ended so there is a lot to go around. I know there are a few on the bay already but the early bird always catches the worm and I'm sure a lot more will dampen the demand and therefore the profits will fall. I know its hard to resist the temptation when links get put on the forum about new stuff coming up but when your CC is maxed and you cannot shift them you may think twice. I'm glad some real Hirst lovers got a signed Hirst though but the others maybe regretting the hasty rush.

Damien Hirst Superstition Poster, by slowmo on Apr 12, 2007 14:37:58 GMT 1, Hi ABC,
They do all come with order numbers that relate to the purchase on the order confirmation emails, what the item was and who it was sent too. So anyone who is looking to buy from the bay can ask for this upon sale completion to check authenticity.
Looks like provenence is provided right there and eliminates anyone from just signing one as their confirmation will have unsigned on it.

Damien Hirst Superstition Poster, by dkla on Apr 12, 2007 14:56:11 GMT 1, I feel like a lot of folks have been trying to shoot holes in the joy of those who bought these signed Damien Hirst exhibition posters. There's no reason. Let's face it - they're beautiful litho posters printed on quality paper, designed by one of the most renown artists alive in the world today, personally signed by him, in a limited edition of 100 (or 50 for Superstition), and on top of it all, they're pretty darn cheap (relatively). There's a ton of Hirst fans out there who can't afford original works. These posters are clearly more than "just cheap posters" -- they're touched by the artist. This is also evidenced by the prices people are bidding for these currently on Ebay. Ain't nothin' negative about all that. Good for those who scored those babies.
