TPN Crew on tour in Germany photos, by Replete on Jul 8, 2008 19:16:49 GMT 1, Huge 5 storey wall painted last month in Wiesbaden Germany as part of the Meeting Of Styles global graffiti event, this production featuring:
Sune, Grown, Bird, Skenda, Inva, Seemso, Probs,?, Versoe, Rocket,?, Eon 75, Bonzai, Rota,?, Replete, Sune
A real saga painting this due to lots of writers who've never met before just being let loose on a huge wall and it descending into mostly grab a space while you can with not much thought to the concept (Which I was told was a Romanian theme to which i replied "what the f**k's a romanian theme? Is that like pikey vampires? Turns out they meant a Roman theme) .
The pieces came first and then a lot of writers just f**ked off after they'd done their own thing leaving us (mainly the UK writers and Bird and Skenda) to pick up the pieces and bodge a background round it as best we could.
We had very limited paint supplies given namely sabotaz (kinda s**te but getting better) and best of all we got given a box full of scrap cans consisting of a real history lesson of spraypaint. Their was weird ass italian montana which I used for the water (and had the best fun ever painting the waves in the river and waterfall at the bottom) and some tasty belton perfect (small can like hycote) which was the nicest orange ever that I used for the mud under my letters. We even had the first ever belton in cardboard labels around the can! One hilariously exploded in Sune's hand it was that old and crusty.
The wall changed constantly over the weekend with pieces and characters being buffed to make the overall wall work and things being repainted and painted some more to get there in the end.
So all in all we managed to salvage the wall from a fate worse than death and had a great time in the process featuring some classic moments involving many of the writers.
Honourable mentions go to Bonzai for his high altitude greek god cock insertion, sub bass snore offs with Sune at night and his mock posing in the Party Puff's Trans-Am sans piss coloured caravan.
Sune for all round rescue job and team leadership skills whilst still managing to remain nicely drunk throughout the proceedings.
And Manuel for putting on the whole event as you wouldnt believe some of the quality of productions going up over the weekend in a totally chilled atmosphere.
Ta very much,
R

Is the bridge in the piece based on Warschauer Brรผcke (Warsaw Bridge) in Berlin? Looks very like it to me.

The architect of the bridge killed him self after the bridge was finished because it was too low for boats to go under it. (true story) That is dedication to your job and taking responsibility.

TPN Crew on tour in Germany photos, by Replete on Jul 8, 2008 21:24:11 GMT 1, One of the bridges is based on the Theodore Heuss bridge that crosses the Rhine near wiesbaden and the wall we were painting was right next to the end of the bridge.
The other bridge came about through a random series of events as part of it was the letters of one of the writers who dissapeared after the first day leaving us to fit it in some how.
Sune than came up with the idea of turning the letters into a bridge and painted it entirely from his weird and wonky imagination.
But I have to say it does look like the warsaw bridge in berlin but it's purely coincidental.
