Release them, if people get them they do... if they don't... well, they don't

The have a lot more than just a few thousand people F5ing for a Banksy and that "slow down" is not something that happens any more - The recent Banksy releases have had literally hundreds of thousands of users online trying to buy!!!.
I believe that because they have managed to detect the usage of software (which affects the site through effectively F5ing many many times a second) they have eliminated these issues.

It's a lottery already.....but at least it's in my hands. I hate the idea of having someone else decide whether I get a print or not. You win some you loose some, that's way it goes.

What about the fans who don't have thousands of pounds to spend on art and want something on the wall...
Maybe separate editions like Hirst - cheap runs and special collectors runs would be a good idea maybe

Nick Walker • TMA Hollywood, by insite on Feb 14, 2008 12:30:27 GMT 1, sorry about this chaos people. I know from the deluge of calls that a lot of people are very angry/upset about this print release. All I can say is sorry to those dissappointed but they went on at 11.am and by the time I could look at the front of the site had sold out. There is no perfect way to release a print under this demand and the reason for doing it online was so saturdays event was not ruined by trouble. Releasing live in my opinion does not stopp flippers as people who flip for a living tend to be those who can afford to queue for longest. We had something like 2500 people refreshing at 11am. Gonna think hard about how to deal with this in future - perhaps larger editions or higher prices. Sorry to thopse dissappointed. we do care about our customers and do not want to make people unhappy. mike
Thanks for that Mike.
Given a choice between bigger editions and higher prices I'd prefer bigger editions, I can barely afford anything now (not saying your prices are too high I'm just too poor). I think higher prices are just going to make more of us flippers buying up two to sell one too help pay.

I agree - please no lottery, especially not fairq.
Personally I prefer a random release to a timed release.

That's even more random... it depends on how quick your mail server is
I honestly think this way is the fairest of all - an online release, but at a random time, name the day, not the time and release...

you must be joking
the average price on these prints on the bay is around 4k u.s. - they won't feel anything except perhaps a little back pain caused by sitting on their asses with fatter wallets in their backpockets.

Prefer the timed release, prints have sold, now I can get on with my day instead of wasting it. this is full time job for flippers so they are happy to piss their pants in front of a pc all day long! Some of us have real work to do!
