But I think you'll find loads of people on this thread are genuine. The originals on ebay also won't be worth that much, they certainly don't represent Dan at the hight of his powers. I wonder whether the person from Belgium thats flogging those old pieces are his mum, glad to see the back of them. His new stuff though motor is really pleasing to the eye. Did you go to his latest exhibition?

Yeah...I did get there the opening night...what can I say not bad but IMO his prints look far better than his originals and yet I passed on the opportunity to purchase Triptych from the show. Sticking plastic figures, crosses, fags and dollar bills on to canvases just doesn't do it for me...but hey-that's just me.

Dan Baldwin 🇬🇧 New Print Release • Art For Sale, by finsburyparkranger on Apr 15, 2007 22:05:03 GMT 1, Yeah it was funny actually at the exhibition someone asked me if they should buy one of the canvases they were flirting with and I asked them why didn't they get the print instead and save 3k considering it was much better and each print was unique anyway. They couldn't give a reason. I think in hindsight it was because they were so rich (city trader type) the idea of buying a print rather than a canvas hadn't crossed there mind.

Dan's work seems so played to me. After I just accused ABC of being cynical (sorry ABC  ), now I'm probably being cynical now by saying that I smelled some kind of major Baldwin PR/hype machine bombarding this forum a month or two ago. Of course respect to those who find value in it -- nothing wrong for voicing one's own opinion and nothing wrong for liking something others don't.

Everyone has there opinions but "Utter tripe"? Bit harsh IMO.
The respect points shouldnt stop you from saying what you think, who cares about your respect points they will always go up and down, dont worry about them.

Saying that I've seen one or two images of his that are striking and beautiful but others that appear to be purile and derivative. I suppose you could say that about many an artist. Time will tell what the art world thinks about any artist. What really matters is if you like what you buy. Dan Fans enjoy.

Dan has a show at INK_D gallery in Brighton from 20 May through to 23 June. Details are on Dans site or further information go to www.ink-d.co.uk
The gallery hasn't quite opened yet but as you can see from the site it is opening next week with a Trafford Parsons exhibition.
