BANKSY Film "Exit Through The Gift Shop", by pcant on Nov 18, 2010 9:10:30 GMT 1, I spent a semester abroad many years ago in Paris, and I remember them doing that with a fair number of movies. My favorite is "Cool Runnings," the film about the Jamaican Bobsled team. The French title? "Rasta Rocket."

"Faites le Mur" has a "trespass" connotation, and "mur" is a wall which suit the street art activity ;-)
And don't forget that Banksy is mainly famous in the street art community... Most people here have never heard about Banksy. At the best, some parisians are familiar with Invader :-)

Don't want to start a long debate but now think that renaming all movies' titles in French is stupid.
Anyway, is the movie subtitled or in French ??
Do you remember the Jupé law about the use French word (ex. in advertisement, in France, we always have an asterisk next to branded sentence - Just do it* - with translation at bottom; it's mandatory)
Even football casters were trained to turn "corner" into "coup de pied au coin"...

Could have been worse, it could have been "Sortie par le magasin de souvenirs" ahahha
Now, unless I get a free invitation for the opening, I won't go and see the french version. That would be quite funny to see Thierry Guetta being translated in french though.
That Juppé law is funny. Obviously inefficient. I have a gazillion of english words used everyday at work and any report would be full of * !

Its not a 'Best Director' oscar, although its usually the films director that accepts the oscar.
If if does win, the rules state that only one person can accept the oscar, so I'd imagine producer Jamie d Crus will go up to accept it, although it's possible we might also see a video acceptance speech from Banksy, like he did at the Grierson awards earlier this month, but with the 45 second limit on speeches that seems unlikely.

I have two blue ray dvd players and it doesn't work on either. I don't have a blue ray disc drive so that's what it's not recognized on my computer but can't understand the dvd players unless I got a bad disc.
