Homage to the waste of space, Ken livinstone, by Oliver Winconek on Apr 9, 2008 7:59:53 GMT 1, Not at all, I am far from being a toff. This doesn't really have anything to do with politics and political parties let alone class, it's just my response to what I think is a ridiculous idea that doesn't seem to be working

seems to be to be a contradiction as calling Livingstone a waste of space in the context of his job or running for mayor is undoubtedly a political claim. What you may mean is that you donโt support the Tories which is understandable. But looking at the stencil and the title it appears to be a political comment about the congestion charge no? If not, what is the โwaste of spaceโ about? I think there are problems with London but really donโt think Borris is the man to sort things out by a long shot.

Homage to the waste of space, Ken livinstone, by Oliver Winconek on Apr 9, 2008 10:12:01 GMT 1, You have hit the nail on the head to be honest, I was slightly incensed at being called aTory Toff by cocteau101 but hey thats life. I certainly don't support the tories and although I don't agree with some of the changes Livingstone has made during his time in power I really don't feel Boris could do any better. It's been shown time and time again that imposing the congestion charge has barely cut traffic levels and yet every day thousands of people are being charged ยฃ8 to drive in to London. It needs to be scrapped but the government is too greedy and wouldn't want to lose the revenue it generates

I have to disagree with you on the CC, I take public transit and, despite there still being congestion, it is a heck of a lot better w/ the CC than before it. The bendy-buses though, they take up space!
I also support putting up the CC to ยฃ25 for Chelsea Tractors (do you really need to drive your massive SUV into central london, is there a cattle auction I dont know about?) as well as other gas guzzling care. In a perfect London, there wouldnโt be any cars and public transit would be free!

Homage to the waste of space, Ken livinstone, by Oliver Winconek on Apr 9, 2008 10:38:49 GMT 1, I was amazed the first time I saw a bendy bus! I thought there had been an accident! I completely agree with you about the Chelsea Tractors, it's just ridiculous to have a 4x4 vehicle in London, they are built for all terrains, harsh environments and adverse weather. not sitting in a queue, moving at 4mph in a light drizzle!

Homage to the waste of space, Ken livinstone, by Bram on Apr 9, 2008 11:48:16 GMT 1, You guys should move up north.
I live in the gulf stream (currently 80 outside) Chippies are better, beer is cheaper (and better). You can buy a five bedroom house for ยฃ7k and oh how we love the open roads with just ferrets and the odd tractor....bliss. Ooooo Manchester with the open fields and the country air ;D ;D ;D ;D
