Seriously, it's rather early in the morn, I'm on holiday, timezone makes me get up early.
Finished my book this morning, don't feel like starting another. Don't leave for Tulum and Xel-Ha for another 2.5 hrs. Partner is sleeping, so I'm bored.
Jacked up on coffee!!!

b) Look at this piece Rene did in 2007. interesting that he has used (dare i say 'stole'?!) Picasso's famous quote "good artists copy, great artists steal"

And in such a case you can not claim "copyright" or owning an idea when you have yourself already borrowed someone else's idea. Reappropriation / fair use is fine but it soon finds its own limits if you don't find ideas of yourself. How many artists have used the soupcans idea since Warhol ? Quite many. I guess adapting the soupcan to the spraycan was quite an easy one and maybe there was even another artist who did before Rene and MBW we never heard of. Rene's art is cool (I have two of his prints myself) but if you watch closely, many pieces are simply obvious inspirations (from Warhol to Invader through Banksy or other famed artists like Michelangelo). He did a Marilyn (=> Warhol) or Mona Lisa with the colored circles which are a derivative from Invader's principle or Roy Lichtenstein's.
