Glastonbury 2011, by ricobenfico on Jun 9, 2011 22:58:03 GMT 1, New Glastonbury print from Eyestorm:
This week sees the release of Radiohead artist Stanley Donwood's brand new Glastonbury print which he's made for this year's festival, available for just £88.
Stanley Donwood X Glastonbury Festival 2011 by Stanley Donwood
Glastonbury is one of the world's best known festivals of music and performing arts, and is due to take place once again in two weeks time in Pilton, Somerset, in the south east of England.
Following the success of the limited edition screenprint he made last year to celebrate the festival's 40th anniversary, Stanley Donwood - best known for creating album artwork for the band Radiohead - has made a new print to mark this year's event.
This time a lithograph printed on uncoated 200gsm Edixion Challenger stock, the edition size is larger at 250 so that more can enjoy the piece and the price can be kept at an affordable level, which will be music to the ears of Donwood and Glastonbury fans alike who want to get their hands on one!

Although (the single Motorbiking aside) Chris Spedding was mainly known as a session guitarist, however I saw him live many years back and he was amazing, I remember he did a song about a party or event where all the greatest guitarists got together and he played in the style of each of them it was incredible how similar he sounded to them

My recommendation would be plan to arrive sometime very early Wednesday morning (we are looking at 4 to 5am) that way you will miss all of the queuing which can be for hours (at 11 it will be murder) and have the pick of the best camping spots be set up early ready to explore or relax as suits you. Also try to camp somewhere a little nearer to the action (we will be on Pennards Hill) that way although you have to trek across the site at the beginning and end you wont have to far the go during the festival. Also I recommend waiting until after midday for leaving on Monday again you end up missing the queuing, just watch out the tatters don't think your tent is abandoned gear looking to be salvaged

Hope it is on Friday as it might make it a little more comfortable getting a decent spot to see U2

Glastonbury 2011, by gibbin82 on Jun 14, 2011 20:18:24 GMT 1, Oh! I know there isn't much time left to get gear together but IMO one of these camping.efestivals.co.uk/off-roader-festival-trolley-mkii-1035-p.asp is essential for getting your gear from the car to where you plan to camp (bear in mind if you don't arrive early you may be parked up to a mile from the gate also make sure you take a good soft pair of ear plugs that is if you plan to get some sleep during the night, unfortunately they don't stop people falling over guy ropes and landing on your tent which does tend to briefly wake you up Regarding wellies check the forecasts before you go and if it looks good I wouldn't bother, they are bloody heavy to carry and you would not want to wear them all weekend if you don't need to (and if I was sharing a tent with you I wouldn't want you to either ) should the weather forecasts be wrong you can always get them quite cheaply on site, we got a pair for a tenner each in 2007 when it was *(Removed)ial* rain all weekend when they could have easily took advantage of the situation and fleeced us, the wellies were a bit like a disaster relief drop
edit: *(Removed)ial* is because it wont allow the word t o r r e n t to be posted, Oh! the joys of automatic spam and offensive word filtering

As a veteran of many Glastonbury's, I would say defo take something to pull/push your stuff in. Its a long walk! Place your tents close together, or you will wake up to find tents in between yours and your mates. Dont use guy ropes! Unless gales are forecast - they are a bloody pain in the arse for you and everyone else. Dont run out of cash. Take plenty, even if you end up taking some home. The Q's at the cashpoints are hours long, and the walk to the nearest one off site is very long! Dont get tied up trying to see loads of bands - other festivals are for that! All just sayin. Enjoy.

One day I have promised myself I will do Glastonbury. Its 2nd only on the list to going to art college when I retire. I sat and watched last years with my eldest (6 years) and told her daddy would go one day. She said I could take her when she was 16. Did not fancy telling her I would be 55+....

Glastonbury 2011, by ricobenfico on Jun 14, 2011 21:50:15 GMT 1, Ohhhhh and the excitement is building!!! In a little over a weeks time, I'll be sitting outside my tent in a big field in Somerset having a drink and feeling very content with myself. I feel totally shut off from the world at Glastonbury.
Not too keen on the trolley's mentioned above, I also see broken trolleys and random wheels strewn on the footpaths. Good rucksack and strong arms is all you need
And Harv, never too old for Glastonbury! The older the better!
