Glastonbury 2011, by Prescription Art on Jun 22, 2011 19:16:05 GMT 1, ;D ;D ;D I bet some peoples tents will float away while they are sleeping!
that happened to a mate! We'd been wandering round trying to find some beers in the very early hours when finally we found someone who sold us a crate of beer, and a stereo for a tenner (obviously this was most likely nicked but we hadn't really considered that in the midst of our delight in finding some booze).
So we sat at the stone circle, lit a fire, opened a beer and pressed play - only for 'smack my bitch up' to come blaring out the stereo amidst all the crusties playing drums. It was only the cassette single unfortunately so it got a bit wearing after 30 times round on auto-reverse.
Anyway it started to rain as the sun came up so we went back to our respective tents - and I didn't see him again for the rest of the weekend. About two hours after I saw him he said he'd woken with a vague watery sensation - only to realise that he was literally floating downhill in his tent (which was also full of about 6 inches of water) and about to enter this lake!

Glastonbury 2011, by Coach on Jun 22, 2011 20:20:33 GMT 1, Yes my 'camp on the high ground' philosophy paid off that year...
I was there that year PA.. Shocking! Even tents on high ground were not safe, as small streams developed running down the hills, washing tents away. Happened to tents very near us. When I got up that day, to walk into the main area, we found that there was a brand new river at the bottom of the hill, that was quite deap. Spent the whole weekend wet after that!
Still, I am sure everyone there will have a jolly good time!!

Glastonbury 2011, by Warm Gun on Jun 26, 2011 18:08:14 GMT 1, I thought coldplays new songs were played with great emotion, especially the last one. Fix you and Shiver were also teeming with emotion and energy. Funny how we all see things differently. As for playing their Greatest hits....well, they were never going to headline Glasto playing b-sides

Glastonbury 2011, by kalm on Jun 26, 2011 20:08:33 GMT 1, I guess I saw it as a greatest hits show and don't listen to them enough to know their new tracks all that well...seemed forced.
Then again, I expect every band to be like PHISH and play every song differently every time they decided to play them...most bands aren't like that and have a setlist they adhere too. Wish I could see the radiohead set...I've been to thousands of show since the 80's (70's even as a toddler) and Radiohead still ranks among the best times I've ever had...they are a Force of Nature that attracts the most free-thinking and creative people to their shows...lime a magnetic force!
