Spot on imo. Thinking about that seriously its true. Some works i bought in the past by other Artists are just too scary / miserable for the walls, they look great and the skill in doing them is obvious but not for the wall. I think on reflection i would rather see a nice little street piece by Adam on my wall, looks an interesting show though!.

Yes, but Ludlow would be enroute back from Manchester to Brizzle. By the way Slammer, the show is in London.

I am not a big fan of these recent works. I simply prefer it when he paints. An immense talent with a brush in his hand.

... blown away. Quite simply blown away.
It will probably take 18 months, but I'm going to have to get a piece from this period.

Adam Neate "The Flock Series" Show, Elms Lesters, by ricobenfico on Oct 14, 2010 21:11:51 GMT 1, WOW! Look at the work and effort that has gone into this. One helluva a process to produce this and sticking with Neate's recognisable style. I think this is fantastic.
It's been good that there's not been any photo's appear from this exhibition so far, encouraging people to attend, but gotta say, I'm glad this one has sneaked up on the board! If anyone has some photo's they'd be willing to email me that would be appreciated. Would love to see the other pieces but unable to travel down from Edinburgh. Thanks

Mrs K would not be impressed by that!
Speaking with Paul I got the impression that Adam's recent pieces are now distributed across the globe. His collector base is now international and - I believe - justifiably so.
It's no exaggeration to say that in the last 12 months or so, Adam's two releases of work are the ones that have impressed me the most.

Adam Neate "The Flock Series" Show, Elms Lesters, by wizzy on Oct 15, 2010 22:46:41 GMT 1, These look interesting, are they large works Sand?, this is all one series of works is it?. Im not liking these as much as his older works there but i suppose that doesnt matter as i wont be having one and also i suspect they have a different appeal when seen close up in person.

Adam Neate "The Flock Series" Show, Elms Lesters, by sand on Oct 15, 2010 22:55:08 GMT 1, They're not very large Wizbong...at a guess I would say...90 x 60 cm or so...
Def. not a patch on previous pieces in terms of scale.
The pics do them no justice at all. I also like the way the frames are flocked to match some of the material in the pieces..hence them being called the 'flock series'.
Apparently Adam will continue to explore and focus on making 3d works in the near future...apparently the process is very time consuming. He does everything on his own, no outside help whatsoever. It is very very impressive in person.
Anyone near London should check out the show. The book is also very nice as well.

Like you say they will be no doubt stunning in person im certain. I saw my first Caro many years ago and it too took my breath away, i had admired this particular one from pictures in books previously but wasnt quite prepared for the shock i had!. Cheers.

Adam Neate "The Flock Series" Show, Elms Lesters, by Coach on Oct 15, 2010 23:35:21 GMT 1, Thanks for the pics. Honest opinion. Clearly hugely talented, but my taste much prefers his work from the last Elms show. Appreciate that I havnt seen the pieces in the flesh (wheras I did go to the last elms show - twice), but whilst I can appreciate how good these pieces are, they do not do it for me, as much as his (slightly) earlier pieces. Just imo of course. c
