What Music are you listening to at the moment ?, by Coach on Feb 19, 2016 0:19:49 GMT 1,
Is that the music from Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence? Apologies if I'm a million miles off. It's many years since I've watched the film. But the music seemed familiar.

One of my favourite songs of all time and in my view surpasses the vocal with Sylvian, Forbidden Colours. Great film to boot. Amazed that Mark Stewart did a version many moons back - though that won't be to everybody's taste.
Equally splendid if you don't know it, is the soundtrack Sakamoto did with David Byrne for the film Last Emperor - not forgetting his former life as an electro-whizz in Yellow Magic Orchestra .... Despite appearances, they were ahead of their time

What Music are you listening to at the moment ?, by met on Mar 5, 2016 12:17:32 GMT 1, Thank you for posting.
Canada needs one or two more Arcade Fires to balance out Justin Bieber. They're a positively innovative and progressive band.
This link offers access to the interactive version of Sprawl II, which I haven't yet tried:

For those drawn to the beauty, performance aspect and notion of ephemerality of street art, I would push you to also explore contemporary dance if you're unfamiliar with it. There is nothing quite as transient as live dance. One could make a similar argument about the entire career of professional dancers.
Sticking with the Canadian theme, this extract from Amelia (2002) by รdouard Lock โ choreographer and founder of the dance group, La La La Human Steps (now sadly broken up) โ might offer an enticing taster. The music is by David Lang, with vocals by Nadine Medawar. I trust that Velvet Underground fans will recognise the lyrics:

That is beautiful met. I remember seeing La La Hunan Steps many years ago. The female dancer had striking white blonde hair. What I shall not forget is the astounding way in which she threw herself around, and was thrown by her partner.

The female dancer had striking white blonde hair. What I shall not forget is the astounding way in which she threw herself around, and was thrown by her partner. The female dancer you're referring to will almost certainly be Louise Lecavalier, a star who was with La La La Human Steps for almost two decades. Besides the platinum hair and generally frenzied performances, she was especially known for her physical strength and barrel jumps (the horizontal pirouettes).
Lecavalier collaborated as well with David Bowie, and was in the Michael Apted 1997 documentary, Inspirations, also featuring other creatives in different fields, including Bowie, Roy Lichtenstein and Tadao Ando. She's now in her late 50s and has her own dance company โ based in Montreal and magnificently named, Fou Glorieux.
The piece you saw may have been Human Sex, where she plays a topless androgynous character in a tutu and fake moustache. I'm not sure how well the choreography dates after 30+ years, but some of the moves are still very impressive:
