Wanted Jose Parla World Touring Letter (Found), by richhutton on Dec 23, 2010 11:04:22 GMT 1, I am new to the forum and have been going through the Show us YOUR - Latest ART BUY section over the past weeks, spent so many hours browsing and being amazed/jealous of members collections.

They are huge and I went the whole hog getting it framed with museum glass and it looks fantastic. It might take you a while to find one, but they're definitely worth it. When I went to Elms my intention was only to buy St Giles and by the time I got to the front of the queue I had decided on two and thought about the full set. Luckily I got out quick otherwise the credit card would have taken a very big wack!

What I found exciting, mostly everyone on the forum says the prints look even better up close and personal.
A full set would be great not sure enough space to do it justice.

I also went with the intention of buying one (184th Street), came away with that and St. Giles as well and then got told by my fiance to go back and buy WTL to complete the set.....only time that has ever happened I can tell you!

I've got a WTL on the wall and my only regret is that (due to it's size) I don't have a better spot to hang it...it deserves to be a centerpiece.
Good luck in your search...you won't be disappointed! BTW, there were a few St Giles for sale recently (not sure if Holden sold his), if you're unable to find a WTL.

The WTL is more than a happy compromise until the Mrs wins the lottery and buys me an original. Museum glass really sets it off nicely and constantly changes with different light. Could stare at it for hours.

I think they were ยฃ800 to start wih. I am only guessing but I reckon you'll get for between cost and ยฃ1k. But if its something very special too you and you have some spare floating around just blitz out a huge amount and you'll have 30 people pming you in minutes.

As craigf mentioned, the framing including the museum glass (for mine) was more than most people would dream of spending on a print or original.

Luck was on my side. I did a deal on a mint unframed one and will definitely go for the museum finish, probably a dark frame. The final pick up day from the framers will be my first and definitely a very memorable one.
My intention is to have only a few pieces I really enjoy and spending
a good chunk of cash on framing to get the maximum enjoyment out of it is a no brainer.
But I am starting to think buying pictures draws some parallels to a crack addiction. Hopefully I can be self-disciplined ....

I am afraid you have very much hit the nail on the head regarding buying pictures. There needs to be some sort of AA equivelent!

You know, I've always thought Jose Parla was one of the top 5 most over-hyped "street artists" ever on this forum, but I think this piece in this frame looks fantastic. You (or your framer) nailed it. Congrats.
