A nice large signed print comes up at auction around 12-20k USD. Galleries are about twice that. Originals are other-worldly expensive.
There are some unsigned original mailers like Temple that frame up nicely, and less than $2k. I would invest in one nice example, signed. TONS of fakes around, be careful..

I've spoken with the seller and he doesn't have any paperwork and said he purchased it so long ago that he doesn't remember where he got if from
I've confirmed with a couple of experts that the print trimming doesn't really have any effect on authenticity one way or the other

What if you copied soup cans from somebody who painted soup cans? Who did you copy?
Roy was a brilliant draftsman and a talented creator. He was integral in the establishment of pop art, and his concept of low art as high art is part of he brilliance. Your oversimplification of his work makes me question your understanding of it.
