Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by Deleted on Dec 13, 2010 17:19:55 GMT 1, POW have updated their homepage
"So thanks to everyone who bought a Banksy print (which generated an impressive sounding 4.5 million roubles towards helping the VOINA collective and their families). Even more valuable is showing them some solidarity so we’d encourage you all to follow developments at en.free-voina.org
POW would like to apologise to everyone who queued for a Banksy print on Saturday morning and left disappointed. Unfortunately there was nowhere near enough prints to meet the demand and a far more stringent queuing system will be used in future. Please email us if you have a legitimate complaint and we’ll do as much as we can to make you feel happy."

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by love on Dec 13, 2010 17:24:15 GMT 1, Our Christmas Tale or a story about love:
Hi Guys, we’re the so called german couple and we wanted to share our view as tourists with you. We visited London four weeks ago and stayed one week. We had a great time in London and had the first time visiting all the galleries we only know from their online presentations. We visited a lot of museums as well and it is awesome that you don’t have to pay for the entrance for most of them.
We had a great week over there, so we decided last week to give it a shot again and go for our chance that there will be a release on Saturday morning. I sent that many pm’s to Fragile about a possible release, I’m sure this top guy hates me now. He didn’t know anything, but I love to gamble and we decided to give it a try
The flights were found fast, cause there is only 1 flight, which was early enough to join the queue if there will be one forming. We started at 12 o’clock and I picked up my girlfriend at her flat, I was so nervous, that we took the wrong motorway and almost missed our flight, cause we found our first long queues for that day at the airport. Lucky as we were on that day, the plane got a 20 mins delay so we did it.
After arriving in London we had to wait 40 mins for our backpacks, which makes me nervous again and I was happy to join the queue at M+S in the low 50’s. It was a nice spot, watching all the Soho peoples and drinking beer with the daddychaps, thanks mate, not only for the beer, you did a awesome job at POW. Thanks to you and your mates to keep the small chance for us, getting a print, alive.
Had some nice talk with Carol and her man, until someone shouted that we should check our e-mails and almost everyone started to run like mad. For my girlfriend and me who aren’t local it wasn’t easy to get to POW into a given time, but we decided to follow daddychaps for the caps. We lost them there because, the cab was full and we lost some serious time in getting another cab, so we ended up at about 150 in the queue at POW.
I knew it was close, but it could work out. Daddychaps and his mates did they best they could to keep the queue like it was and I recounted the queue several times during this night. I was not really sure but I ended up at 180 in the morning. Need to thank Sand for a great time there, had some nice talk with him and his mates and I’m more than happy that he scored. We shared our chairs and blankets with each other and watched out for the others stuff if we get some drinks or meals. My girlfriend felt a sleep very deep and had a good one in her warm sleeping bag, … wasn’t that warm for me, but Sand made me laugh and I was happy to be part of that event.
After the security arrived it was horrible, cause there were greed and dollars in a lot of eyes I saw. I was always afraid of my girlfriend, but she’s a hero. We lost more and more and was pushed back in the queue, so we ended up seeing that a guy which was 8 in front of me got the golden ticket 200. We were very sad that it didn’t work out, but we knew we did our best. We didn’t push or anything else and we were 50 in Soho and 150 at POW, we know under normal circumstances, we scored.
In the next second we saw some guys running away like mad, and we didn’t think twice and ran behind these guys. I asked them were they ran to, but all I got was a “f**k off” (This was what I understood after standing several hours in cold dark London), but we decided to follow these guys. We lost them at the underground station, cause we ran out of funds (damn London is so expensive), we didn’t find the right machine to pay with our cards, so we failed in getting the underground and lost everyone.
We stood there with no cash, holding each others hand, freezing and where totally down. We talked about getting to the airport and sleep there, cause we were totally finished. We were just sad and tired, but we decided to give it a last try at M+S, just to tell Dora what happened this night in East End. We didn’t hoped for a print, we just want to tell someone what happened this night.
We didn’t ran nor hurry to get to M+S and as we arrived a guy, which I now know is SteveSoho, asked us if wanted to queue here. We looked each other and weren’t sure about it but a quite and shy yes came out of my lips. So SteveSoho, damn I thank you so much, wrote number 59 on my hand and number 60 on my girls hand. Just behind us, a girl arrived, she looked very sad, too and I’m happy that she got a print with number 61.
SteveSoho told us after some time that he talked to Simon and there were 60 prints aviable for this queue here. Peoble hugged each other and they cheered and felt into each others arms. I couldn’t be that happy cause we were the end of the queue and if there would anyone push we’re straight out. I had to many up and downs this night and I don’t wanna believe what I just heard.
Anything went very well with this queue and we scored the last two tickets, which were given away this day. Happy faces all over the street, it was like a Christmas tale…
I met several Forum members at the queue but we were too tired and sucked out for a longer conversation. Thanks Ruggs for the whiskey, it made my day at the airport. We almost lost the prints at the airport, cause the german police wasn’t so sure what they are worth… happy that they never heard about banksy.
We slept the rest of the weekend and just smiled each other, knowing we had a trip and a story that noone could ever take and we both knew that this prints will never leave our flats again, reminding us of our crazy trip into the dark, the nice peoples we met and our love for each other.
The Prints are already at the framer and one will hang in my flat over my coach and the other one will hang at my girlfriends flat in her living room.
Thanks again to anyone out there, who made it that absolute unbelievable weekend. Cheers
... and 1000 excuses for my bad english .

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by ecb on Dec 13, 2010 17:26:28 GMT 1, Ive heard of several people getting the email from POW, but not one for a Red print. Hopefully emails havent been sent out for that one. I'm holding onto hope like the last biscuit at a family reunion. Congrats to those who scored, lots of first timers and people who used other people to submit for them. I'll definitely be doing more and more of that in the future.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by alexnh123 on Dec 13, 2010 17:32:16 GMT 1, great story 'love'. i'm glad that you came up trumps in the end. You sure sound more deserved of the prints than a lot of people i have been hearing about recently. Sounds like a nightmare night, i'm glad i didn't attempt it! Enjoy the prints.

likewise i'm glad i didn't attempt the queue. really tempers my disappointment at missing out in the lotto into insignificance.
i wonder if there's anyway those who missed out on the print at the queue could prove they were there to PoW (queue numbers tickets - if this was done in a distinctive way?) and PoW could offer them first refusal on a future Banksy? i don't know why i'm suggesting it, because i doubt PoW would feel it worth their while. but it'd be deserved imo.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by ninja on Dec 13, 2010 17:37:30 GMT 1, I can't do that again next year, it'll see me off. I'm a grown man for christ's sake. I must have refreshed my e-mail over 300 times this afternoon! Well done to everyone who bagged a print, especially the queuers...it looks amazing. I'm typing this to you in the dark as I begin the long save to bag one on Ebay. Merry Xmas one and all. X selling your body in a dark room is a sign of perseverance to get that print! respect!
hahaha ;D

oooooof. maybe the council will take pity on you if PoW don't? nah, on second thoughts, i think you're more likely to get sympathy out of PoW!

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by alexnh123 on Dec 13, 2010 17:52:53 GMT 1, the bin prices on ebay seem ridiculous! i mean 10k, are these guys kidding?! My belief is that as the print market becomes more saturated in general; so prices will come down and plato out. I agree when the hype dies down the prices for this print may drop, but it's the risk you gotta take! On the flip side; pre xmas, people may not be in the position to spend as much as they could do come Jan/Feb, so now could be the time to buy! Not much help then really was i!

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by Brushstrokes 75 on Dec 13, 2010 17:53:45 GMT 1, I don't have one by the way. I'm just watching the current listings that are moving towards this number. As I said it could be the result of shill bidding as well.
Wouldn't pay more than £1.3K for one in any case.
Totally agree with John as well !
You're also killing it for anyone else who wanted to buy as you basically say to sellers that's the mark buyers should pay for it !!
