A 'keeping my wife happy by selling' thread, by charlie on Mar 2, 2011 10:07:37 GMT 1, Icesay : I know..... I do not feel good about doing it - I do worry about bad karma but I have had too many time wasters in my experience on eBay (anyone fancy a 1980s Jacuzzi I sold on eBay a couple of weeks ago but the buyer did a runner?!).
So when someone comes offering cash and immediate collection for a fair few of the lots it is hard to resist. It is also a perfectly legit option on eBay to remove an item as no longer available - and I've had the same experience before where things I was bidding on (and winning) suddenly get withdrawn.
I have also had many of these items up for sale on the forum for some time so had hoped to give people a chance to trade directly.
but I get what you're saying.... very fair point.

A 'keeping my wife happy by selling' thread, by Brushstrokes 75 on Mar 2, 2011 10:10:33 GMT 1, You have to understand the man mate. He was selling here first and nobody makes an offer (or a relevant offer).
He puts them on ebay starting ยฃ0,99. There's no warranty of selling at any given price. Someone makes him an offer that he agrees upon he take it off.
If people really wanted it, they would have made a relevant offer directly...

A 'keeping my wife happy by selling' thread, by Icesay on Mar 2, 2011 14:21:19 GMT 1, I just thought that ebay was the last resort in terms of selling.
Just makes me lose confidence in bidding on anything i guess.
Don't get me wrong, ultimately it boils down to money and a nice simple transaction and i'd probably do the same.......it just really grinds my gears ;D

I've put in decent bids for a few things on ebay and then been frustrated when they've been taken off because the seller has decided to deal off ebay. It is frustrating but that's the way it goes - if there is something on ebay that you REALLY want i'd say it's best to contact them directly.
You can't blame anyone for withdrawing something from ebay if they get a decent offer though. I've had a load of items listed on here that haven't sold so i have put them on ebay - over the 10 items i've got 120idd watchers but i have no idea if any of them are ging to bid (or if they would be frustrated if i pulled the auction) however I know if someone from this forum offered me an off ebay deal that I was happy with I would pull the auction.
Hope you get the piece you were after eventually.

A 'keeping my wife happy by selling' thread, by Icesay on Mar 2, 2011 19:38:32 GMT 1, Hmmm.........all valid points.
I didn't see the artwork for sale thread on here so i just bid on ebay. At least it wasn't withdrawn at the last minute.
Anyhoo it seems like quite an emotive subject. I'm sure the person who bought the piece/s will enjoy them and that's the main thing!
Think i need to check the sales threads here in more detail in future.....
