Sorry Stuey, didn't mean to mentally transport you back to school there!

I've thought about buying Napalm a few times, particularly when they were floating round a few months ago at the £750 mark. But after travelling through Vietnam and reading the book 'The Girl In The Picture' I just couldn't quite stomach seeing it every day.

I understand what the picture is saying, but I just can't handle the fact that people could be looking at it in total naivety of what Kim Phuc went through. Or maybe I just couldn't stand seeing Ronald McDonald every day! Mickey's OK, I don't mind him so much.

Thats why for me, Barcode is my favourite Banksy, as whatever its socio-political message might be, its not immediately obvious. Plus I'm an animal lover and I like the big space on the right hand side !!

Quite the opposite for me. I thought he was having a laugh with napalm when I first saw it, then learnt to appreciate it over time. Still not one I would really want on my wall though, for the very reasons you suggest. Its well in your face

Barcode is usually going for around £1400 - £1550 recently on ebay.

I doesn't matter if you start low on the bidding, it will easily get up to the right price.

That one was originally on for £2500 and had no takers. then it relisted and seemed that it had sold for £1850. I'm sure it did, but i would imagine this is due to someone contacting the seller and making an offer as there was no best offer button on the original £2500 sale.

I'd say that £1850 was an anomally due to an extremely desperate buyer, but you never know.

£1400-1500 is still a really good price for this. What was original cost price? £89? Whats that...a 1600% increase. Damn.

I don't get the big attraction to barcode myself. The idea of a barcode as a jail bars seems played out. Visually it's just ok I think. I just can't get why that print sells for so much more than others? Maybe I'm missing something?

I think barcode is a lot less obvious politically (admittedly I'm not aware of the political meesage at all, but i'm sure there is one?).

not everyone wants bombs, guns, military paraphenalia and general anti establishment aimed images on their walls.

as far as i can see, it doesn't deliver a negative message, so maybe this makes it appeal a little more wide ranging.

£1850 is a fair price but i'd be surprised to see it make that jump of £400 or so that quickly.

No but am thinking of letting my toxic mary go soon as i have limited wall space and am preferring the more affordable images of the likes of Mantis etc. these days!
