Yep, I spotted that - quantum physicist, composer, and artist! I have to say, if I was going to have a portrait done, I would love one done by this chap!

I did some research before, there is a well written article on wikipedia.

Really how he discarded the surroundings, makes the portraits look more powerful and isolated and actually makes the animals more human taking them out of their natural environments.
