Banksy's latest prints and all that..., by Neate Michael on Nov 27, 2008 11:02:36 GMT 1, A few thoughts spring to mind one week after the carnage that was Nola (and no, I didn't score one)...
1. It was another print that has been released not from the LA collection. Two years later, two of the prints remain unreleased. Why? 2. I can't believe POW released only 289 prints of a new Banksy image. Yes I know the number is significant, and perhaps Banksy himself insisted on the small print... But stilll... What is wrong with a signed run of 1000? I would be happy with that... I ain't got the cash to be buying off ebay, and I loved that image. 3. Will POW clean up their website issue? The double selling of prints goes back at least as far as Morons and happened to me. I lost out, and POW waited 6 weeks before I contacted them to ask where my print was and then they refunded me. Cheeky bastards turned down my request to get one next time. Still the gods smiled on me and I have a colour trolleys on my wall. 4. Will there be any Banksy prints at the POW open day... I don't think so as it would be carnage. It would be good if POW released a statement to that effect, there by halving the attendance and making sure it was "POW fans" in attendance only...
Anyway, those are my thoughts, I'd welcome your views on any of the above.

1. anyone who knows won't be saying - an explanation would be nice, although fans seem to be the last to know
2. Wholly down to Banksy, the number and yes very significant meaning - of course like all those who missed out I wish the number released was larger - but no use crying over spilt milk
3. get a grip the fever whipped up here was unbelievable, the number of people hitting the website when Nola was released I'm hardly suprised they had website issues
4. f**k! no way - it would be a nightmare I can't imagine it at all - a banksy release that is

Banksy's latest prints and all that..., by Neate Michael on Nov 27, 2008 12:13:02 GMT 1, A few thoughts spring to mind one week after the carnage that was Nola (and no, I didn't score one)... "POW fans" in attendance only... . Take it you won't be going then? ;D
Actually Pud, given Mrs NeateMichael is one day overdue on giving birth to our first born, chances are I won't be there. However is all goes well, we may strap him into a baby bjorn and rock up... But not if it is going to be like several of the BRP events, with obscenely long queues in the cold... That print one springs to mind, we queued for two hours before getting in... And that was for a company who don't rep a Mr Banksy... Imagine what the POW open day could be like? Which is why I would like to see POW say: No Banksy stuff would be available.... Keep the queues down and more chances for fans to see stuff... However, I am not a fan of more than 3 of their artists to be fair...

What he says!
4. I really hope they don't. A statement would be a good idea to save themselves (and fans) from impending chaos. But you have to ask yourself if the open day is replacing SG08.
If it is, then maybe they will release another Banksy but it would make more sense to do it via the website. A bit of Internet chaos is much less stress for everyone than the scrums we have seen in the past (Laz queues etc).

Banksy's latest prints and all that..., by alsbabar on Nov 27, 2008 12:26:16 GMT 1, Neatemichael, you were the one who started the frenzy by starting a thread about POW's website, so the only person to blame for not getting a Nola is yourself
Why should POW say whether or not there would be a Banksy print release at their open weekend? You saying you wont be going if there isnt? For those exact reasons, I would suggest POW doesn't make a statement. When I read your post, I dont actually see you as a "POW fan", it portrays you as someone who just wants a Banksy print, and you dont really give a shit for anything else - the reality is you're the rule rather than the exception, which is a shame.

My speculative thread last Thursday was just that. I didn't have a crystal ball. Imagine my surprise when a print was released.
Besides, even if I had not posted (and read what I posted, I just wondered about the LA prints, and then mentioned the Banksy prints page had had a couple removed) everyone would still have gotten the email, so it was hardly a secret!

Of course, but I would also have been happy to have paid ยฃ450 for a run of a 1000, and put that on my wall... The number of the run would only matter if I came to sell it, which I would hope I would not need to do (but if times got hard of course I would, now I got 3 mouths to feed).

Banksy's latest prints and all that..., by alsbabar on Nov 27, 2008 12:38:28 GMT 1, you started the thread over 2 hours before the POW email came out - so you in essence started it off, bringing awareness to site changes at POW and a lot more people to their site, i would bet that a lot of those would not have gotten the email - but hey ho - you live and learn

Perhaps you are right, we shall never know, but fundamentally I think you're wrong and we shall have to agree to disagree.
Besides, we could probably both agree, that as soon as the email was released the news of it would have been posted on the board, which would have created a frenzy.
Plus, the title of my thread, was Banksys LA Prints...
Somebody (presumably Silky) changed the title of it to what it is now...

Banksy's latest prints and all that..., by chrisps303 on Nov 27, 2008 14:11:00 GMT 1, I think it would be better not to release prints at the open day, i will only go if no banksy is released. I think it would be mayhem down at pow if they do release a banksy. Thats just my opinion of course.

Looking forward to this no end, and I couldn't care less what is or isn't released - as will be having no end of fun all day

Banksy's latest prints and all that..., by wave on Nov 27, 2008 16:16:57 GMT 1, Probably never really know but personally IMO its because he's done so many great images over the past couple of years, why would he want to?
Saying that, Sale Ends would be a particully relevant print to release at the mo.
