Caroline Burraway - Too real to be seen!, by Heavyconsumer on Oct 14, 2008 18:17:43 GMT 1, I missed this thread. Caroline's work on the Signal site looks mighty special.. Sadly I'm too far from home for this show and can't afford to buy her work, but if it's this powerful through my monitor, it must be worth seeing up close! Good luck with the show Chris!

Caroline Burraway - Too real to be seen!, by Heavyconsumer on Oct 15, 2008 15:37:11 GMT 1, Just took another tour of your site Chris. Everytime I do so it's something different that catches my eye and sucks me in! I'm a fan of Denning, which is what originally drew me to your site, but then the likes of Caroline and Dale very quickly won my attentions. However today, it was something totally different that grabbed my attentions (maybe my mood is odder than usual!), it was the works of both Crawfurd Adamson and Iain Andrews as well as the teasers by Elinor Evans and Jonathan Darby. Amazing range of work and styles you have up there, something to suit every mood. Well done!
Speaking of moods, does all of Caroline's work focus on death as a subject matter? And is there much variation in disciplines and media to be found in her work?

Thanks for the compliments about our range of artists and specific names. Since we opened we have been trying to build up a reputation for showing strong figurative art (and the odd abstract moment) whether it comes from the 'Urban' end of market or the fine art scene. Really glad you think we have found a good mix.
As for Caroline, her output has it's roots in video work which she studied at Central St Martins College and she has only relatively recently been focussing her talents on drawing. It's plain to see that she is very talented in this area. She is starting a new project which also focussing on the end of life.
Just finished putting all her works up and they look amazing in the gallery.

Hi Coach, I haven't seen the new stuff she is currently working on. She's keeping it very much under wraps as yet, but I know she's trying some new techniques and some of the pieces are smaller. If you're in London come and have a look at the show.
I did see your pic of Dale's Salome and very impressive it looked too. He's working very hard on his new show - over 20 pieces completed already. From what I've seen there are a few more sinister looking eyes coming out of the studio. Plus some other amazing images.
