UPDATED Smuggled paintings and national treasures., by crazyarsemother on Jul 8, 2008 23:24:53 GMT 1, Here is a little glance at the finished paintings and prints of my degree show.
However, due to corrupt border officials, attempted coups, savage armed gangs and awful ice cream I have taken the opportunity to smuggle my art work out of Yesyoucanistan and into REDPROPELLER galleries.
www.redpropeller.co.uk
I will continue to depict the country's volatile, exotic, intoxicating, self obsessed and evolving state but will no longer sell the results domestically. To be honest Yesyoucanies seem more interested in naff ironic screenprints of children sporting mohawks and playing with hand grenades.
Thanks to everyone who have sent messages of support over the last 6 weeks. To all those who asked about buying work then please do. Prices are available on the Red Propeller website.
Stay fresh kids!
James

UPDATED Smuggled paintings and national treasures., by crazyarsemother on Jul 19, 2008 11:14:55 GMT 1, Thanks Harveyn. Redpropeller has given me a great timeframe to ensure I am still making despite my state of flux as i leave college and move from Nottingham to Manchester. I have been working further on using screenprint in a more painterly way. As a form of mark making rather than a means of reproduction. Like everyone else I am becoming a little fed up some of the rether regressive prints being produced. I love painting with the screen ink, moving it across the page with the squeegy (as above). It means each 'print' is unique. Anyway, have spent all week on one design. Keen to get there with the Jesus Heads again soon. Will post some pics some. Thanks again.

UPDATED Smuggled paintings and national treasures., by crazyarsemother on Sept 1, 2008 17:44:20 GMT 1, After much fun with the Twigger and Baker 'Drip it yourself' Jesus Heads I have been back into the now desperate state of Yesyoucanistan to bring new glimpses from the front line in its war on nostalgia.
Fresh screenprints now on www.redpropeller.co.uk
Hopefully there should be some new paintings at their show in three weeks time. Plus the lastest in 'Twigger and Baker' delights. Cheers

UPDATED Smuggled paintings and national treasures., by crazyarsemother on Sept 11, 2008 15:20:15 GMT 1, Cheers Silky. Things are going steady. There is still so much to do though. The future is as bright as we make it. Don't be dragged down by dull political satire art and nuns with guns. That was then and this is now. Viva La Yesyoucanistan Revolution. Long live 'global neo-neon-celebratory art'.

UPDATED Smuggled paintings and national treasures., by crazyarsemother on Sept 23, 2008 9:32:18 GMT 1, Hi Silky,
Cheers dude. I did not realise you were there till I saw your pics and cool video. I feel apart of the world now I am on you tube - great. Shame to have missed you. Thanks for the kind words. I am enjoying it but there is a long long way to go. Are you going to the London show? It will be great. You should have told them about the screen prints they had loads of them out the back. Each of my prints are different. I see screen print as a means of mark making not as a means of reproduction.
Have started sketching for two new paintings for the london show.
They should be a wild ride of rodeo beauty.
You also missed the Twigger and Baker Art Vendor 3000 Deluxe. The balls arrived late with me.
from this machine you can mix and match our stickers, make some crazy characters and then go stick 'em up yourself.
like this
The machine is in hot demand and will be making a new revamped appearance at Red Propeller's London Sub-urbia show at Vyner Street on October the 15th and S-Edition's London Babalon Academy show in December.
