From what i gather Warhol & his 'factory' of artists produced a silly amount of prints/works under Warhol's name.

What do you guys suppose would be the cheapest I could pick up a Warhol. I obviously expect it to be big money but with the sheer amount he produced am hoping to be relatively suprised.

As others stated the Myth series of 10 different images in various sizes on canvas and each had print runs of 200 with plenty of TP's of each image to boot. FWIW, the diamond dust is merely crushed glass but it sure does look good under a light- especially some of the TP's of the "sadow". The mickey's, superman's, and shadows are the most expensive images. As far was Warhol goes, this is one of the more affordable portfolios. The last 2 sets of all 10 prints brought in $460k and $470k respectively including premium.

Dracula screenprint hammered in November '07 at Sotheby's for $18,750 including premium. A 60x60 canvas went the month before for $1 million. Another dracula print hammered in sept for $21k, and an AP (there were 30 for dracula) brought in $15k last May. 2 other regular edition prints went for $20 and $21k last April and May. Personally, I would expect most dealers to be asking $40k and I would feel comfortable paying $20 to $25k tops. good luck

better off spending a little extra and getting a real warhol print. the sunday B.s are worth very little.

there are tons of warhol prints you can get for $5000 USD or less.

Hmm I would not say tons, but there are some, you could just about by a Ladies & Gentleman plate, or perhaps a space friut. Pretty much everything else is over that mark.

But you're right about the Sunday B Mornings, they are still being printed in Holland, and whilst they look pretty close to the originals, they are just reproductions, and so are really only of decorative value. That said you can pick them up for about £100-200 each and they are big and colourful so they are not bad if you just want to decorate you're home.

check the low end of the auction records via findartinfo.com - there are def prints out there below 5000 USD. There are some second run campbell's prints that run aroung that rate.

However, I agree - if you just want to splash up your wall a bit then go the sunday b route.
