Terrible shame. It's so easy to read and think (no offense intended) how daft...but shows how easy it is to be swindled.

Must say that's why I hate ebay, and the likes of WCP and all these fakes and forgeries really do contribute to these problems. Again warning people about sources and framed Banksy's at very good prices. Also hope this highlights the some of the issues with WCP and them promoting on here.

Good luck and hope you get your money back PE. This should be a lesson to us all on being careful where we source pieces as I would suspect PE has a lot more buying experience than most of us.

Also must commend you on going public with this PE rather than trying to pass them on which happens so often.

I need some cash to spend at the GP show next week, so I'm looking to sell this Warhol piece.  I have it listed on fleabay for $1K, which is still less than I paid after framing costs.  Willing to sell it to my friends on the forum at a big loss, for $500, plus shipping.  I can also meet in NYC next weekend.  I'm hoping for cash, but maybe you had a trade I just can't resist?

Signed copy of American Photographer magazine, professionally framed and matted with 2 Tacoma Flower prints. The signature has been authenticated twice and comes with COA's from both RRAuctions and GAI (it's also listed in both of their databases) . No provenance for the prints, but they look amazing!

Not sure on the numbers of editions etc but Warhol wins hands down on the amount of different prints.

Warhol print prices have a huge variation depending on the piece. I have a signed Mao Warhol print that was quite pricey for me for a print and high end or over Banksy prices at the time but I also have a lovely signed flowers (not the famous flowers piece) that was a real bargain for a signed Warhol and not expensive at all cheaper than or similar to an unsigned Banksy these days.

So think it's quite hard to make direct comparisons with each other but if pushed I  would say Banksy is over priced in comparison to Warhol and that's not saying Warhols are under priced.

Note this is an opinion rather than implying fact!!

this is the flowers piece I have. As say not expensive at all sorry this only pic I have of it and away at the mo.

I only got to page 23 of this catalogue (less than halfway through, only cataloguing 'iconic' prints), and I'm already at 25,142 signed Warhol prints.

Banksy has around 8,000 signed prints.

Heard a very interesting interview with a major art dealer... Will post link next time I am at my computer that really does a nice job at breaking down why Warhol is so $ and sought after. Long story made very short is that he was a phenomenal businessman and is the father of the Hand Embellished print... Not to mention the influence he has had on Pop / Modern / Urban art.

Without him would we even know who Basquiat or Haring are? Their influence bleeds down into a large portion of what we now call street art.

"Making money is art and working is art and good business is the best art." Few artists know that rule...

To get a little more detailed, he spoke about how Warhol realized he could take his test prints which he was doing work on by hand which most artist just destroyed and release them as unique prints at incredibly jacked up prices. This allowed him to sell the plain multiple prints at a more accessible price which really helped promote his work and made collectors want the Unique version rather then the large edition that the masses had... Which in turn jacked the prices up further.

He also spoke about his first Warhol, which I love.

He lived in a run down basement apartment, had no car, ate Romaine noodles every meal, had crappy clothes. His friends had nice pads, porsches, and dressed to the nines... But he had a Warhol and he felt f**king cooler than all of them combined.
