What do you normally pay? I pay more than that just for the glass.

Great price quality framing part 2 (pics) , by Wiseblood on Jul 5, 2008 18:40:34 GMT 1,
it would normally cost me about 120 for something like that with standard glass.
Is there a difference between non reflective and museum glass?

hell yeah theres a difference, a difference which im never going to see in my home.
step up from non reflective is uv glass then after that is uv non reflective glass. then its museum glass. museum glass protects work like forever.

Great price quality framing part 2 (pics) , by curiousgeorge on Jul 5, 2008 22:32:27 GMT 1, Non reflective is etched, so you lose a little clarity (or a lot if it is etched both sides) Not the end of the world with a bold piece like this.
Which brand mount card and backing card?? What tape is used?
MDF back?
Just curious

Great price quality framing part 2 (pics) , by curiousgeorge on Jul 7, 2008 13:39:19 GMT 1, Just a heads up, not all 'acid free' materials are equal at all
For me, if i have anything framed by someone else (do my own now) i would expect a concise list of materials used.
One framers 'conservation grade' is another's 'contract/standard grade'

that is true mate they do have different grades
I've just got a micallef framed and the board cost me alone ยฃ73
it depends on how long your going to keep your print and what the print is worth really..
that nick walker print isn't really nothing special so not worth going the full grades on the framing cheap board and frame will do it..
but if you was getting a original done or a real nice print it is Worth paying the extra money on museum pure Cotton grade board, nice true color glass (not cheap), and 1/2 decent frame coz it will last for years and the art work will stay mint
