Creativity Killed The Cat: New Cross Gallery, by futureworldleaders on Jun 21, 2008 11:31:33 GMT 1, FBBB Presents 'Creativity Killed The Cat' at The New Cross Gallery, London
In June 2008 for one week only, FBBB are bringing together an exhibition of recently executed work by a variation of artists within their creative community.
Going under the name 'Creativity Killed The Cat', the show blends together the unique styles of the artists involved; Two-Pence, DBO, Mecha One, Kev Munday & Sazzelli Faunagraphic, into a haven for expression and ideas, in the form of canvases, prints, limited edition t-shirts and more.
Two-Pence: is the voice of two beings lost in the creative minefield of the midlands. They found each other whilst wandering the vast sleepy suburbs of Birmingham. With a budget of two pence and a combination of different artistic backgrounds they embrace the realms of digital art but also utilize sketch, paint and graffiti skills to produce work for print, clothing, live events and web based projects
DBO: Born in 1983, a child of the M3, DBO trod a fine line between a small town upbringing and one of a more rural mentality, a factor which is evident in his work today. DBO's work is very much in its infancy, born from the necessity of boredom, unemployment and depression, he found salvation in the inky flowing lines that characterise his art.
Mechaone: is best known in his local surroundings for constructing huge murals on his jack jones. After deciding to scale down so he wasn't thirty feet up a ladder any more, the artist's work featured is a selection taken from his series ' The Warped World of Mr Mecha ' which is a comic take on personal events of his self in a dark but humorous fashion.
Kev Munday: is best known for his clothing line UnderTheHat, however apparel is just one of the mediums his creative brain likes to work with. Having put work out on the streets under various aliases since the age of 16, Kev's canvas work is an extension of his developed character style, often combined with a quirky and comical undertone.
Sazzelli faunagraphic: emerged from a vibrant valley in west Yorkshire, The beauty of her rural surroundings, creative background & adventurous imagination fuels her idea's & ambition, she applies her artwork to all mediums, & ventures into many types of projects with her graphic de-sign, illustration, Graffiti.
The chosen destination for the exhibition is the New Cross Gallery in South London and the show is open daily from the 23rd June, with a wake for the deceased cat (closing night party) on Saturday 28th, with DJ's, limited free drinks, and some seriously dope work!
Hope to see some of you down there
