funny white dot help needed, by Heavyconsumer on Apr 10, 2008 13:23:27 GMT 1, Whether they all have this or it's just yours, there's no question in my mind that this is a printing issue and unintended by Lucy. POW are known for inconsistent quality of printing and Lucy's images are not characterised by such features, to say the least. In fact quite the reverse is true, so I'm sure it's a print issue, just not sure how many were involved. Would check mine for you but it's a few thousand miles away!

funny white dot help needed, by Heavyconsumer on Apr 10, 2008 15:06:08 GMT 1, Pleased you got it sorted. However this again raises the question of course, how many other back-door prints are there, waiting for the grey market?

Once you know it's there, I reckon you'd see it everytime you look at the piece however small it is. Certainly good camera-work there though!

They are? I have always thought that the printing at POW was excellent. If the printing is so bad then why is there such a bundle for their prints every time they release something?
The speck on this print is tiny. 'Defects' like this are what makes your screenprint a unique piece of artwork rather than a reproduction churned in large numbers by a litho printer. Sending this back is lunacy!

funny white dot help needed, by Heavyconsumer on Apr 10, 2008 18:09:09 GMT 1, In no way am I any kind of expert on printing methods, but I read many a complaint regarding the fact that Sepia Morons was supposed to be a uniform colour, but that there were 3 (I think it was 3, could have just been 2 though) different tones of sepia used for the background. This from a well established printshop, so I would say that's pretty good grounds for my comment. My knowledge of processes and media will not compare to yours PA, but I am of the thought that all prints should resemble the original work as closely as possible. Don't get me wrong, this particular, minescule dot would not have had me returning a print, I was just trying to empathise a little with someone who seems a little irked by it. I also don't consider such prints originals at all. In the vast majority of cases the only time they have been touched by the artist is when they're signed. In fact I believe it may be the case that since Eine left them, POW don't even print in house any more (totally unsubstantiated, pure supposition, based on certain comments about prints being "at the printers").

funny white dot help needed, by streetgirl on Apr 11, 2008 8:04:41 GMT 1, I'm with hc on this one.
Sure it's not a gaping err on the print, but these prints weren't cheap (were they?) and once you know it's there it can be hard to make your peace with it.
If daddycool can get it replaced - why not?
I don't know that I would have an issue with it, but that doesn't make it right or wrong. To each their own.
