How the f*ck do I contact Ebay?, by Sherlock Holmes on Mar 27, 2008 18:38:31 GMT 1, I'm sure my Ebay account has been hijacked and have been emailing them since last Friday to let them know and to ask them to sort it out and I've heard jack shit. 
As a precaution I've changed my PayPal password but can't access my Ebay account
I've searched the site but can't find a telephone number - is there one and if so does any one know what it is?

No good emailing as they are sh*t, best bet is contact ebay live help ( should be top right on ebay page & then search for it) they will clear your account up & make sure theres no hidden sh*t anywhere.
I would do this asap ( even if you changed passwords etc)
Theres a general tel number for powersellers but easiest is live help.

left hand side, click preferences, scoll down to third party preferences & revoke anything you have not authorised!
In preferences you will possibly have official stuff like ebay turbolister, any sniping programme you use, auctiva or similar - basically anything you have allowed to access ebay, anything you dont recognise just revoke - usually in a hackers case if theres anything there it will show as a jumble of numbers/letters and not a specific description.

Might be worth anyone who uses ebay to do the above as well, only takes 2 mins & even though no one has listed iphones/tractors etc on your account if theres anything iffy in the works it will *usually* show up in preferences.

Its either something YOU have allowed thats legit ( sometimes you may allow it without realising due to stuff being hidden in the terms & conditions) OR someones been into your account ( potentially to hack it & list some stuff down the line - even 12 months later) or theres a few specific ebay reasons that i cant really go into detail on.
Best thing is if you did not allow or it or dont recognise it just delete it.

The only two I found on mine were Charities that I had raised some money for in auctions, so I guess thats all normal

Always make sure that whenever your on an ebay page and it asks you for your Username and Password, make sure that up in the box at the top of your browser it says your on ebay.co.uk, ebay.com or whatever country your in.

This is the first time it's been hikacked (as far as I'm aware). If I get no luck from Live Help then I'll use my other account I set up ages ago but never use.

I think it's sorted now. Basically it had been hijacked; they'd changed my password and email address. No activity had taken place on my account though....although thats not the point. Don't know how it'd happened. I never use links within emails from Ebay (or should I say spoof emails), have different passwords for all my online accounts etc etc but hey.
Just waiting for my new password to be emailed to me. Fingers crossed!
