WORST ONLINE ART SELLER, by bullet on Mar 24, 2008 13:18:07 GMT 1, THEARTSELLER is pretty shit before anyone says it, i have had no time to do it - but i will get it going properly soon. It still gets around 100 hits a day for a site that does not really do much at the moment.

I must be lucky I've yet to experience anything bad, in defence of POW when something does go wrong.They are very quick and more than happy to put things right
If we are talking about online book retailers, i can think of one that is terrible, ordered 13 books in the first week of January. The order is still yet to be completed, because they say i didnt give them correct address details.Had 8 books arrive from the order with 'incorrect address details'. That's one clever postman

Because they think its so "easy" so why bother putting in any effort in. I've seen it a hundred times in other speculative frenzies. Most recently the housing bubble here in NY. We would go to open houses - the broker didnt bother greeting. Hardly any info provided besides square footage. Just hung out talking on a cell phone. Needs major renovation. $1 million take it now or "somebody else will in the next 15 mins". Amazingly they did sell like that. Now merely a few years later these same guys/gals are looking for a new "career".

Im actually a RE Appraiser and it was the same thing you mention with the mortgage brokers. They all thought they were hot sh*t sales people when in reality anyone could have done what they were doing; most have also gone on to find new careers. Wonder if 20 years from now these urban art gallery owners will be telling the story about when they used to own an art gallery.

I had the PROTOX crash on color Trolleys and received a mail damaged S&S and she put both situations right with quickness.

I've given up on trying to buy a piece from a particular gallery (not going to name names). They don't have an e-commerce facility so have to contact them to buy anything. Communication is easier said than done. Spent almost 6 weeks contacting them then waiting for a reply then trying to secure the sale and arrange delivery etc. Just gave up in the end. Why should I give them my money when their customer service is so shoddy.
Now going to contact the artist directly. That way we both win - he gets a commission free sale and I get a hassle free deal.
