Ian Strawn - Check out his work, by reznyce on Mar 20, 2008 0:59:10 GMT 1, I just bought a piece from Ian Strawn. Great artist imo. Check out his work: www.ianstrawn.com Be sure to see the stuff under "sold archive" Carmichael Gallery (where Nick Walker had his hit show) sells Ian's work. He's also a very nice guy to deal with.

Ian Strawn - Check out his work, by Heavyconsumer on Mar 20, 2008 2:29:51 GMT 1, While I admit, his work is extremely interesting visually and he is clearly a brilliant painter of portraits and chooser of characters to make for interesting images, it's not for me. There's only one guy who does lifelike portraits that I like enough to buy and that's Matt Small. I've never been keen on having a picture of a person on the wall (especially someone I don't know), but Matt's style is sufficiently "overriding" (can't think of a better word right now) of the subject matter for me to grit my teeth and go for it. I'd love an MS original, but they're a bit pricey for me, sadly. Ian Strawn definitely get's my thumbs up, but not my cash payment. Nice thread though!
