BBC 1 Imagine...Now , by Deleted on Nov 21, 2007 0:05:06 GMT 1, This program is making me angry. People pointlessly over-analysing everything. How can something that anyalyses the art market call itself art? Where the fuck is the substance? Just a bunch of clueless twats with too much money and free time!
It needs to die ;D

BBC 1 Imagine...Now , by streetgirl on Nov 21, 2007 0:23:44 GMT 1, The 'un' from 'the sun' cut out and stuck onto paper for ยฃ5k?
Apparently, you're paying for the artist's daily journey to buy the paper and cut out the 'un'. And he will continue to post you daily 'un's in the mail.
It's conceptual apparently.
Though I quite liked that Boo Ritson's work in places:

And don't forget that amazing rubber tube that will be filled with air from Paris after you buy it. How much, 3K or something
I agree that Boo Ritson's work is quite cool. I bought that copy of Art Review. I will try and scan the Boo Ritson article and post it soon.

BBC 1 Imagine...Now , by corblimeylimey on Nov 21, 2007 0:31:08 GMT 1, I enjoyed watching that.
A couple of quotes to remember...
"98% of all art is shit"
"Don't buy art expecting it to earn you money or you could end up being bitten in the face"
www.bbc.co.uk/imagine/
to download exclusive art work by Jake and Dinos Chapman

BBC 1 Imagine...Now , by leehambly on Nov 21, 2007 0:33:34 GMT 1, I think his final look at the "ladder" was fairly telling, more than a little disappointment in there.
I'm torn, while I am personally happy that none of the artists this site is focused on were mentioned, I also think to ignore them (Banksy especially, which must have been an editorial decision), I think part of the programme was flawed. Not sure how a programme on the boom in interest in British comptemporary art in the year 2007 in London can ignore Banksy, frankly... not so much of a single mention.

BBC 1 Imagine...Now , by paulypaul on Nov 21, 2007 0:34:49 GMT 1, A Boo Ritson piece at this exhibition at Baltic Mill at the mo. It's probably the best piece there after the Gilbert and George (I'm a sucker for G and G - g/f always wanted to go to Venice and I refused til G an G were at the Bienalle. That was cool but Venice was cooler... You live and learn...)

BBC 1 Imagine...Now , by Cocteau 101 on Nov 21, 2007 0:49:46 GMT 1, I like the idea of conceptual art - that whole buying into the process / creation thing - but fuckin hell I wouldn't put it on my wall - the builders would throw it in the skip.
Quite enjoyed the programme yesterday - but I'm sick of rich people who have probably made a fortune from their art telling everyone not to buy into it - fair enough it may not make you rich but I'll decide that for myself without being tols it by some patronising t**t.
Some of the gallerists featured must either be so far up their own arses not to notice or honestly be taking the piss - I'm yet to decide. An enjoyable 35 mins I missed the first 25 because I was buying contemporary art from a forum member and losing my shirt my shirt (apperantly) in the process. Don't forget to download those Chapman prints - I might get DFace to write a message on mine and post it back to the Chapmans the cheeky bastards.

the proceeding comment also made me laugh, from memory, something along the lines of "You've got Ukranians blowing 2 million dollars a piece on art I couldn't get a Las Vegas thrift shop to accept"
