As current England captain he gets asked all sorts of double-edged questions in pre-game interviews and kind of has to answer them... wouldnt take any notice, he knows which side of his bread is buttered.

yeah, basically he was saying that he agrees with sepp blatter (only interested in the world cup. and money.) that there shoud be a limit on foreign players in club sides.
what bollox! same as the adage applied to pele, george best, maradonna, ronaldo(the good, brazilian one) and rooney - ie. if you're good enough, you're old enough. my point is that if you're good enough, you're good enough, whether black, white, yellow, brown, tall, short, english, foreign, whatever.
liverpool have used no more englishmen than the other lowest using teams, super stevie g would do well to consider that.
i hope mclaren gets the fuckin sack, no matter.

i feel for the good lads like crouchy in particular, young un's like richards, robinson, joe cole, rooney and gareth barry. the ones like fat frank and super stevie g have had eough opportunities and still produced very little, f*ck 'em off, get some new blood in. david bentley, mark noble, theo, michael carrick are where it's at, players with something to prove. for 7 and a half years, england players have known all too well that regardless of how sh*t they play, they are almost guaranteed of their place.
