Great I understand now I think that the idea of no more team meetings is a good one as well. So behind it is then. I am glad. Again sorry to have taken up your time . I also got many emails and understood why it was better not to include everyone. See you soon in a better spirit. Miguel

No we always want positive input and and for people to enjoy their games be normal ! just think before you speak !
We dont hold often have meetings so that wont happen again anyway -
I just think that its best if you keep a lower profile for a while - I had a lot of emails after your comments and they weren't nice and then I got a whole lot more after your email - so it took up my time and caused a stir in the club - I dont need to discuss this again - thanks Sal

Hi Sally Sorry to hear that you lost your game....as per your email you seem to have played better than the average so hopefully our little incident yesterday did not affect your performance! Next time you will get them for sure. I just wanted to say that I read your email to the end as requested and I realised that you asked me not to send it to everyone and that I did. So I understand that you got upset I was thinking about this overnight and, just to make sure that I don't upset you any further, when you say become a quieter member of the team...do you mean not talk to anyone during practice/games or just during team meetings? As you can see I want to put all his behind and want to do it properly avoiding further retaliation... Mxxx

Hi Miguel - can you please read my emails more carefully in the future.
I have asked that you become a quieter member of the team and I expect that to now happen. Please make sure you read all this email to the end.
I specifically asked you not to make this apology public and you now have therefore involving others who were not there, even sending the mail to people who have left the team.
You have also sent all my emails to to whole team - which has really made me further angry.
No need to reply to this email - lets see how you get on for the next few weeks - and then we will talk again. Sally

Hey Liam
I just wanted to publicly apologise to the guys and to you in particular if I made you feel uncomfortable on Saturday.
I thought I had done after training and that you say that it was okay but I think that Salli thinks otherwise so I just want to make 100% sure that you are ok.
When you said "is everyone okay with it?", I understood it was an invitation to feed in and I provided an open comment with no intention of personally questioning your authority or skill. If you felt hurt by my answer I am sorry. I am badly used to open conversation in teams so I must admit that it was the wrong place to do it and I must admit also that I am silly for it.
It will not happen again. My mouth will be sealed in team meetings. I have been banned for next game so please do not put me in your list. I have also been asked to be quiet for next month so please do not feel that I am pissed off or anything.
To you guys I am sorry as well.
I told Salli that if you or her feel that it would be better for me to leave the team, although unhappy, I would only need my deposit back.
Looking forward to a successful season of the great PVC Boys team!
Kindly yours
Miguel

To be honest I am really disappointed in this email as yet again you are further justifying your very rude behaviour, and really I was hoping for a short and clear apology. I am stunned that you think my reaction is heavy - I have never seen anyone behave like that in a sports team and I have been playing sport in London for 20 years.
Also lets be clear on one thing no one asked any questions Liam made an announcement and you instantly queried him.
I have spoken to Liam and I dont feel that you apologised, and I have read your 2 line email and it does not change anything -
You wont be selected for the next match - but if nothing further happens then I will tell Liam he can consider you for the next match.
I did not tell you to leave the team maybe you need to read the email properly.
So in Summary if you apologise properly to Liam then thats ok as you have told me that you do accept him as the selector - I think you should be become a quiet member of this team for at least the next month - and please make your apology private via email or in person but not in front of any other team members lets just try and end this episode quietly please -
Sally

I rather sort things out face to face than on an email but being brief
- I did sort things out with Liam after the training session - I do accept him as the team selector. I believe that was very clear (you can ask him I even sent an email this morning) - We had a team meeting and I believe that some questions were asked to the team, and I answered them. You know me by now and you know that what you get is what I am, for good and for bad you will never hear me saying anything beyond anyones back that I would not say to their face - I respect you for all the work you do for the club and think that it is working quite well. I am aware of the amount of work that being in a team requires and I understand how you want to avoid disruptive situations and that you may be under a lot of pressure sometimes. My intention was not to undermine you in fron of the others and I apologyse if you felt like that.
Given that, I feel that your reaction is a little heavy and I hope that you change your mind on my selection for the next match. I can assure you that this punishment would not really help this team going forward.
I have paid the money to be in the team, attended all trainings (except the meeting when I was in Spain and Javi was going to fill me in), paid for my matches and helped us win one game so far (where I got injured and still turned up to the next match)
If you still want me to resign from the team then fine, you just need to give me my deposit back. It is your club at the end of the day.
Please let me know what you decide.
Regards Miguel

Miguel, in light of your recent comments to the whole team this is my decision please read it carefully and let me know your decisions.
I make the decisions alone at PVC and there are no committees. The team is selected as follows: those who help and or give up their time for the team, the best players , those who are most often at training. This was sent to you on an email at the start of the season and was also discussed at the men's meeting which you were all invited to.
There are clubs where teams are selected purely on the basis of ability, but this is not one of them, and was never intended to be. That was made clear from the beginning. Those who wish to play for an ability-only club are welcome to find one elsewhere.
You cannot play in the team if you do not accept Liam as the team selector, if you have had a change of heart and wish to apologise to Liam then that will be acceptable.
If you do have negative views then expressing them in front of everyone is not acceptable there are much better ways of doing things. Constructive comments are always welcome, but openly expressing lack of confidence in another player is detrimental to the harmony of the team. Trying to then rally opinions from other team members against that player is unacceptable. So, comments about the team strategy can be directed to Chris or Liam and any other comments can be directed to me.
I considered your behaviour detrimental to my clubs atmosphere and I will not tolerate it again - telling me to be quiet when I run this club and also telling Liam to his face that you have no faith in him - is rude aggressive and bad mannered. If this happens again I will invite you to leave the club. You must understand that a lot of my members here left other clubs because of bickering so I will always act fast to stop this from developing further.
If you cannot accept Liam as Team Selector then you will have to resign from the team and just attend the social sessions.
You are not being selected for the next match - this is my decision in light of your recent behaviour.

funny conversation - not art related, by scavos on Nov 1, 2007 14:30:43 GMT 1, Hey mp, call me old fashioned but whilst the story might be an insight into how unreasonable people can be I think it unethical to post personal emails onto a public forum. Have you anonymised them? Are you miquel? Clearly we don't know the ins or outs of this scenario but I'd seriously consider deleting the post IMO. Just doesn't sit right to me.
