and i forgot Fried hallumi,( cheese you can fry , honest , straight in the pan with some olive oil, when fried remove add a little lemon juice,mmmmmmmmm) thanks plurker for reminding me.

You should check out Country Cheeses in Totnes down at the bottom of Fore Street in a lane which leads to the lower car park (Ticklemore lane/street)

Personally I'd go for a mature cheddar and echo what other people have said, there's no point in going for crap that tastes like plastic, got to be the good stuff otherwise don't bother.
