Where would you put your money?, by stuey09 on Sept 12, 2007 21:28:23 GMT 1, If you want to make money? Hirst prints some older ones have dropped in price a little, and the white cube Skull prints are ok. Banksy Signed prints only. Takashi Murakami. Micallef. None of these are a risk and you'l see a good return in 5 years.
Mint advice Trebor

Where would you put your money?, by ambrosiabaptism on Sept 12, 2007 22:16:21 GMT 1, £20k, man I'd love that much to blow on art!! Personally I'd go for a Conor Harrington original for 6-10k, a Matt Small original for 5kish, and the rest on prints, but give £1k to a charity using Art as Therapy techniques.
+1 and then some for the £1k to charity using art as therapy.
I work for a charity and can say that any donations are worth double what you give.... share your passion and help those with the most need, change their lives through something that you feel strongly about. Even better buy them a Banksy tell then they have to have it on their wall and when times are real hard they can weight it in for even more £££ Bless

Where would you put your money?, by carlito on Sept 12, 2007 22:20:18 GMT 1, I think people might be taking this thread a little too serious, its a hypophetical question. When me n my mates used to sit around getting stoned we'd always talk about winning the lottery n spending the money. My point is, cant we have just have fun with a thread rather than getting uptight with the state of the graff scene
i actually made a joke about how uptight i was getting about it...oh well..humour never was my strong point... on a brighter note WELL DONE SCOTLAND you just helped out my Italian lads no end ;D ;D ;D

Where would you put your money?, by rob123rob on Sept 13, 2007 2:45:46 GMT 1, As someone who's been on this forum just since April this year, and still learning new things about different artists all the time, of all the artists mentioned on these forums believe or not the one I know the least about is Hirst. I saw someone mentioned him earlier in this thread. Who has a brief history of Hirst to impart? I've seen a photograph signed for sale of his called Deadhead...explain, someone. Prints? What's the best, where available..etc...thanks

Where would you put your money?, by trebor on Sept 13, 2007 5:33:38 GMT 1, White cube, buy the large signed ed of the skull for 900 quid if you have lots of money and want to make an investment buy 5.
Also buy a Valium.
Buy all of the Micallef Self portraits you can find.
Any sub 4k signed Banksys.
Also a splatter of Takashi Murakami's
20k could net you 2 signed Banksys, 2 Micallef heads, 1 Valium, 2 Skull prints and a load of Murakami's. Sit on them for 5 years then sell them and be a smug t**t.

Where would you put your money?, by BME on Sept 13, 2007 5:42:23 GMT 1, Not sure about future values/ investment but, for aesthetic purposes I'd love to own an Adam Neate original (probably one or two of the street pieces) and a few more Ian Francis pieces (originals and prints). Oh, and I'd buy a LIITA for the study

Where would you put your money?, by a4mnt on Sept 16, 2007 18:17:01 GMT 1, I assume thats a joke, but its probably an astute buy for the future CBL. Surely they will eventually return to their previous level as the bank of england aint gonna let them go bust as it will mess up confidence in our economy.
So NR shares are probably a good buy if you are prepared to wait?

Where would you put your money?, by sausageboonwee on Sept 16, 2007 19:26:27 GMT 1, I would be extremely careful about buying a Valium. A Couple in the Midlands have been churning out fakes through ebay for a while. Friends of mine bought one, had it checked by Eyestorm who told them they couldn't guarantee it's authenticity (in other words..). I agree with sub £4k signed Banksys. Also a Neate Self Portrait is unlikely to drop in price.
