sorry bonesy mislead you there i meant he said the guy in the postoffice put the return address for black rat press so he said, i thought you filled that bit out if you have ever sent a tube special delivery.

They will fight it for you and give you your money back within a couple days. Paypal claims are worthless compared to having visa or mastercard fight it out for you.

I agree! its all very fishy  how anyone could say they got a print and never had it out the tube so never saw the damage Should be a full refund  Lets wait and see what response the seller gives

I'm fairly sure that if the person who sold you this print doesn't want to do the moral thing and give you your full payment back, then there are 2 alternatives.
1. The lynch mob. Nice idea, but not recommended (at least not at first).
2. Get a local brief to remind him of your rights under the Sale and Supply of Goods Act 1994. Without being too boring, Section 1 clearly states that the goods must 'meet the standard expected by a reasonable person taking into account the price, any description and other relevant factors. (these do include Appearance and finish)
So my advice to you, would not be to accept a token amount from him, but to seek a full refund. Mind, we could also have a chat about pursuing him through a civil claim for the trauma that you have suffered Don't suppose you suffered any whiplash when you collected the heavy and awkward print did you ;D

Hopfully this is the end of it and we can all learn a few things. i will keep you posted, if this goes pear shaped, then i will pass it on to Paypal.

Some of us have been in these sorts of situations and wasted a hell of a lot of time and effort, and got nothing back (from earlier reading it seems that octopusuk has been going through a thoroughly shit and lengthy ordeal- you also have my sympathies and I wish you luck).
I know that in past situations I would happily have taken an immediate 90% (ish!) refund. We all know this person is guilty, and yes, there is some very clear evidence against him. What I fear, though, is that it will become a 'your word against his' situation (similar to a shit car insurance claim), which will take time and effort to sort out

A note for all of us, maybe we should insist on photos and an accurate description and we'd at least have that to fall back on to in case of dispute.

If the guy who sold you this has any sense of honour then he is duty bound to ensure that you are fully reimbursed. You bought it in good faith so it is really bad form to expect you to accept anything less than a full refund. It's not your fault that you're having to reject the print. Treat other people as you would be treated is the best maxim to live by.
