The originals are stunning but they have really produced something awful with his first edition prints. Adam can produce many styles and they shouldn't have attempted to reproduce his 3d(ish) work-on-card style. Really ugly and around ยฃ600. It should be 10 times as good and half as much.

His originals sell for upwards of 8-10k.. up from between 200-800 mid last year and 1.5-3,5k just a 6 months ago... prints at 600 quid !!!.. he's already well and truly made it IMO.

gent รacardi on Feb 7, 2007 0:23:05 GMT 1, I don't find all of banksy's subject matters to be sophisticated either, their execution and style help and certainly for me there's prints of his that i wouldn't adorn my walls with for that reason; it suprises me that the virgin mary for example was the last print to be sold; for me that's one of the best, the subject matter is much less 'gangster rat' and more mature, on top of that it has all the trade mark elements making it an all round classic piece that encompases who the artist is, and speaks of the genre of the work, through its carefully orchestrated drips, the natural framing is a bonus and the banksy logo tag at the bottom satisfies! anyway i digress; bast; appeals to me, i never got to get the pieces i wanted from the faile site but f**k it, i hope you get to! his style is very honest, he's produced strong work consistently enough for you to believe in, the elements come together to produce a very unique 'street; style with worth alongside the like of warhol, he's careful not to copy; but to move the style on, the techniques executed suggest his moving towards a very new direction; perhaps even more 'considered' than that of warhol, at least definately more daring and 'specific' in it's execution or message suggesting boldness, confidence and conviction from the artist.

the paper is Fuji Crystal archive paper in matt surface' - not sure what is means but sounds nice and technical.. and they look stunning.

Sure improved quality but you can get prints by more "known" artists for that price. In light of this price grab, I "withdraw" my suggestion.

What the fuck though, buy his stuff if you like it, and even if you don't you may as well fleece some other sucka in the short term and buy something you like.
